Car trouble...

ok, so I put the ETS 4" IC on and things were going fine... the AFR was actually better and close to stoich 14.2-14.9 with a lot of 7's flying through there.

Today, all of a sudden as I got the car to where the turbo spools up, the car shutters and the ASC light comes on, the idle shoots up to 2000 rpm (usually 800) and as the car shutters, the SES light (that had already been on) flickers along with it, plus the car just doesn't seem to have as much power. I turn it off for a while and I guess it resets itself, so it's ok, then once again, when I get to higher boost... same thing. Am I hitting fuel cut or what?

Is it possible that with IC install with the 3 port that it caused the boost to go up to much?

I know pretty much everyone is out since it's a friday night lol, but i've been at a viewing all day and have to be at a funeral tomorrow pretty early, plus I don't drink, so no out for me. BUT if there is anyone out there...

I had bought a MBC for tuning purposes, so i'm wondering with the mods that I have if I can just turn the boost on the MBC all the way down and flash the car back to the stock map?

Also, Tephra... how do I get rid of this SES message that started popping up when I got the LC-1?

yeah your IC + 3port probably caused overboost.

your tuner should (preferably) disable P1235 - although in this case its alerted you to a potential problem..

if you want you can reduce the WGDC's a little ...

P0420 - you need todo the rear02 disable (ecu options 2, bit1 (second last bit))

who are you going to get to tune your car?

Mellon is going to do the tuning. The P0420 code i'm trying to get rid of.. is it in ECUflash or Evoscan?

what about the MBC? If I turn it all the way down, will it keep the car from boosting at all or will it just leave it at stock boost levels?

ecuflash to remove P0420

have you got your wideband hooked upto the rear02 signal wire into the ECU?

you need to work out if your going to use the MBC or 3port or stock setup.

MBC = no messing with the ECU, much less control over your boost curve
stock setup = ok, not great
3port = best IMHO

3port REQUIRES you to half the wgdc's and then slowly increase from there...

no WB is not hooked up to the rear 02, I don't see those options on ECUflash... does it have to be hooked up to the car to be able to look at the options?

Mellon is requiring him to use a MBC over the 3-port.

so can someone give me a little more insight into doing what Tephra said about turning off the rear 02 sensor? I don't see what he is saying on my ECUflash program.

Under the section "ECU Options", click the table "ECU Options Set #2"

That table will have an item named "bit.1: Enable Rear O2 Sensor". Tephra wants you to set it to a 0.
