hey guys.. im not exactly sure what it is that i am hearing coming from my motor but sounds like knock... just a bunch of tick tick tick tick tick sounds as the motor idles.. any ideas if its a normal thing or not? i usually hear it as its loudest after iv driven for a good while.

im a currently running aem intake, hks bov, greddy se exhaust and ecu reflash to cobb ap aem 91 stage1.. this ticking noise has been going on like this before i bought the cobb ap.

any help would be greatful, thanks again.

 

I guess there is something loosen in the engine making this ticking noise while the pistons are moving under (almost) no load on idle.

 

Sounds like lifter tick which is very normal to hear on all 4B11's , my wifes 4B11 Lancer Gts is very noisy but has always been like that since it was brand new .

 

or its his noisy sst tranny like the rest of us put in drive, R, it pretty much goes away you only notice it idling as all the clutches are freely moving

 

mine nocks too at idle i think it is normal but im no expert

Mine does it too. The first few times I heard it, I almost freaked out. I've gotten use to it by now and just dont worry about it.
