Best bang for buck Intercooler kit?
Perrin Core has a greater cooling surface area than the 2 companies that have 4 inch thick ICs. Also you only see cooling surface when you look at the front of the car with perrins as opposed to the welds on some others. It doesnt matter how think a IC is. It matters how well it flows and how much surface area is used for cooling. To give a good analogy if you have foot long ***** but if it as thick as a pencil it wont get the job done. You need a good balance of lenth, width, and depth to get the job done.
PERRIN 20.75" x 12.375" x 3.625" = 930 cu-in Ambient cu-in 256cu-in
Brand-1 18" x 12" x 4" = 864 cu-in Ambient cu-in 216cu-in
Brand-2 20" x 12.4" x 3.625" = 899 cu-in Ambient cu-in 248cu-in
Brand-1 18" x 12" x 4" = 864 cu-in Ambient cu-in 216cu-in
Brand-2 20" x 12.4" x 3.625" = 899 cu-in Ambient cu-in 248cu-in
Here is a picture of our cooling surface. We maximize all three openings on the Evolution X Bumper.

None of the core is hidden behind the bumper lol. I have it. You can barely see the welds on each side. I have pics if you want to see. The entire face of the bumper is cooling surface are. None is wasted. I think ETS is great as well. I was just stating what is important in cooling. Surface area exposed to cool air. Im sure the difference in performance is minimal until you get to ridiculous horsepower. I havent seen the ETS in person, but they seem very nice and get good reviews. Ive seen 2 others in person and the End tanks and welds look awful compared to. Im sure the performance is about the same though.
