Changing the tranny fluid in the x

So, I have been reading up on some older posts as to which tranny fluid to put in the x, in order to try and elimnate or reduce the notchiness. It seems that the best solution was the AMSOIL MTG -- I just wondered if anyone that has swapped to this could tell me if this is the correct fluid to be using: AMSOIL MTG 75W90 API GL 4. Thanks!

Yes, the that's the one that many (myself included) have switched to. You'll need to buy 3 quarts; the transmission takes 2.7 quarts.

Awesome -- did it eliminate or reduce the notchiness of your tranny?

It definitely improves the shifting feel; by which I mean shifting becomes a lot smoother. I think for sure it's worth changing.

i changed mine with MTG and my gear with SVG. talked with oildoc and 2 quarts for the svg covers both tc and rear diff. 3 quarts covers tranny like Manboy said.

as for notchiness it is significantly less but the shifting is butter smooth. been running amsoil for all my prev cars as well. def worth it.
