Reverse failure in transmission in evo x
I took the car into the dealership and they tried to diagnose it without opening up the tranny. They did disconnect linkages and found that they could not pull it into reverse. If they were to open the tranny, I would have been stuck hours away from my home if they could not get it back together so I decided to instead have it looked at locally. Again, my frustration is being told that my warranty is void because my car is modded when my issue may have nothing to do with a mod and the transmission was not even opened to properly diagnose.
BTW - For those of you who think you can get away with a piggyback and just remove it when you take it in for service, that will not be the case as they have ways of finding out you had one on your car so don't think a piggyback is going to help you.
What we have to do is force these dealers to play fair. We will take responsibility for what we break but if the problem is a Mitsubishi factory part failure due not to any mod, then Mitsubishi needs to own up to it just as we own up to our breakages due to mods.

I just got my car to go into reverse. I reved the car to 6000 RPMs while in neutral a few times then pressed the clutch and the car went into reverse. It only goes into reverse when I do this. Obviously, I still need to get it fixed but at least I can get it into reverse. Thought this might help someone out there that might experience the same and might help the dealer diagnose the problem.
Someone asked me how many miles are on my car, I have 18,000 miles on it and it was built back when it had 4000. This is the first problem I had and probably has nothing to do with mods. I attribute my car having great performance to Xtremeboost and Jestr Tuning.
I will keep you all advised as to what I find out. I hope you do not run into the same problem with your tranny, but if you do, at least you will be better informed.

true, but I would have bought it even knowing the trans might go. I have owned some nice sports cars, and an EVO VIII, and this EVO X has to be the best handling and most fun of all. It also has the greatest potential on pump gas without meth. First model years all have their issues but I couldn't wait until a 2010 model.

this is the pice that got mest up from the transmition from my evo x ..........i need the warranty in the dealer to fix it cuz the cost is from $2,100 to $2,500 to repear it.

Well it might be messed up to say that I'm happy to see other people having this problem... but it's an obvious sign that if both those of us who have modified the vehichle and those of us who have not are having this happen it must mean it is a manufactuerer defect and not due to modification of the car. Hopefully a TSB may be released for all who have had or will have this problem and put all of our minds at rest.

A official thread should be made for this issue. Mitsubishi needs to own up for it's transmission design faults.
