So do you guys have some sort of core plan? I would like to prevent this from happening to mine, but can't have the downtime on my car. How much would everything cost?

that is a pretty ignorant comment. What some people have to understand that with such a complicated awd system there are so many moving parts (parts within parts, from trans, to tcase) that something is bound to give. Yes, they should have designed it better maybe or maybe the parts were good with stock use intended (I'm sure they would have seen signs of wear on test mules). It doesn't matter now because for those who can't get theirs waranteed have a cost effective option.

I have a trans at Shep's right now with the same issue. Will also be doing a taller final drive when it's available.

Glad these guys are on top of it.

PS. I will have a good running core for sale once mine is built. It will probably be several months though.

How much power were you putting down when you first had issues / it failed?

what's your goal of putting a taller final drive? doesn't that simply raise the gear ratios?

I don't believe we have cores right now to do an exchange and that doesn't work out well anyway. We send out a good core for the minimum pricing and get back one that's junk that needs the maximum work, it's hard to do a core exchange on something like this.

For questions on pricing and such give the shop a call and ask for Dan.

I see you've made aftermarket ones, what rc have you've traded them to? Harder or softer than stock. (stock ones on right seem to be h.t. unless they're just dirty.

Well, then I think I need to order the kit and have a mechanic here install it. Are there any tech tips or diy's? Anything that will help get it done here. I'm all the way in texas and it's just not feasible to send the tranny up there and have to wait for it to get back especially when I work in a town 4 hours from where I have a house and normally live; at the same time, I have to get it done.

I meant rockewell hardness. The stock ones seem to be heat treated (thus their dark tint), most likely for strength, being moving part and trans = lots of force.
