There does need to be an inline filter because the walboro pump upgrade does away with the whole inner assembly which is where the OEM filter was.

On the 8/9, the actual fuel filter is part of the plastic pump assembly and stays when the pump is upgraded.

The fuel sock is only to prevent the pump from sucking up anything.
Do you recommend running an in-line filter on e85 for the Evo 8/9, or is this only for the Evo X?

8/9 has a filter in the plastic pump assembly which stays with a walbro upgrade.
