I attach pictures of the pins that were removed.

As you can see they are showing signs of fretting on the small pins that hold the large pins into the Center Diff. If these smaller pins shear, the larger pins fly out under the centrifugal force of the clutch and machine their way through the outer gearbox casing (for those that don't know the center diff is in the gearbox, and the front diff is in the transfer case).

I thrash my car every day (if you got it, use it, including the odd hand brake turns, clutch drops and of course sideways action under power with ASC off wherever possible) and now have 15K miles with 300AWHP ( I had 450 for about 500 miles but hated the lag ).

No signs of issues so far. Fingers crossed.
can someone send me a link to the upgraded pins on buschurs site. I cant find it anywhere. im having my clutch put in tomorrow...and like to order these.

After my second diff went, I installed the GBT sensor just for that puropose. If I ever notice that my GBT gets too high too quickly, this will be an indication that the GB is running dry and overheating.
BTW, the hole in the case is caused by a bump inside the case. When the pins break and the shafts come out of the diff, the shafts rub against the case and puch a hole where the bump is. Initially I thought the hole was due to impact by the shaft coming out until I saw the inside of the casing. So, I guess, if you flatten the surface of the case in that place you may avoid oil leak and destruction of the rest of the transmission. Just a thought.

I have a similar problem, not sure yet if the diff pins are the problem, I have stopped the car before the transmission failure...
