I don't think its the 200 hundred that is making me reconsider this turbo. Its the fact that its closely priced to some other turbos that I may or may not of purchased due to their higher price tag. The FP's were on my radar due to there low cost but now basically all the turbos are so close in price the chances of me gripping a green or red just dropped drastically.

BBX/upgraded actuator is 1750 Or
FP RED/ upgraded actuator 1698.

The FP RED was 1599 for a LONG WHILE.. Then they ran them on sale for a few months.. now they are back to the original price.. Wasnt a price hike it was a part that came OFF Sale.. I have news for you too.. the FP Red for X started out at over 2k..

I havent followed the BBX.. whats the HP look like for that so far?? We made 525 with a red and room to go.. It spools nasty quick as well..

straight up glad a vendor pointed that fact out. I dont even own a evo X and i knew that. lol heck they had the fp black for sale at a point of time. Its a sale now its over. 200 is nothing to be honest and people are acting like they raised it 500 more seriously

I dont think $200 is nothing when you're already spending the extra $ for all the parts you need to compliment the turbo; upgraded injectors, FP, FP housing, and O2 DP if you don't already have them. The FP and Housing was $200. That's extra $ you could be putting to other parts.

I dont know what to say to be honest.. You need parts to compliment any turbo or any serious upgrade that requires more fuel.. Instead of calling this a price hike how about calling it " thanks for the many months it was on SALE "..

I would have a different view regardless of being a vendor if FP said " well XXXturbo company is out of business so now if you want the Red its 2500.00 either take it or leave it "..

They are a company in business to make $$$.. Suppose they lowered the price because they got a SICK deal on some of the parts needed to build that turbo and now that company raised their price back up 200.00.. should they operate at a loss..

Come on guys look at the whole picture.. The turbo is priced competitive with any one else's and FP has proven to be #1 in this community for years.. Id say you should be in some other threads saying " hey your turbo doesn't perform up to the same level as FP's maybe lower the price and more people will accept the inferior turbo for what it is at a lower price "..

You can swing off FP's nuts all you want. Id love to see the reason for their increase. Ecomony? I doubt it. I was close to buying a new turbo then they jacked the price.
u can call me cheap, all you want. But Im changing careers, and I was close to buying a new turbo I had msged a few vendors about it. And now this happens, I might as well buy a Dom 2.0

If this is what FP did to make a Black for the IX. " It uses a modified stock 10.5 EVO turbine housing." Why not a Black for the X?

Yes, the price going back up to NORMAL does suck. It hasn't made me not want to buy it. Bunch of babies.

Swinging.. LOL

Sure then Go for the Dom 2 if your comfortable with a cast wheel turbo vs. billet, a turbo that makes less HP, and turbo that doesnt have the upgraded 80mm Cast inlet elbow to save 100.00..

I wouldnt even ALLOW my customer to make that decision.. I would pay the 100.00 for them..

Mike
