lol call it just folks that want deals all the time. They had there chance they chose not to get one when it was on sale. They made that choice. It will be back on sale again. who knows when. in the mean time i just hope the turbo there eyeing now does not raise by 200 then i guess there options would be to stay stock till a sale again.

I could have text Robert @ FP and asked him this weekend but figured the guy spends enough time talking turbos that he deserves a weekend off..

Back to arguing semantics... the price went up, that's a hike. The reason might be the end of a "sale," but the price went up.

Mike@AwdMotorsports you act like I accused you of withholding top secret information from FP... again, you asked questions and I did my best to answer them. Nobody here knows the reason for the price hike... err end of sale... but the thread was started to inform a large amount of potential customers that the price is no longer $1400, and as a result showed that there's a few people who were on the fence about buying the FP Red (or Green) and are now STRONGLY considering other options (note: all of which are Evo X options, not Evo IX).

No this thread was started to put pressure on FP to reduce the price...

I don't think FP are particularity worried about loosing sales, they obviously chose the new/original price based on the rest of the market, so if they have priced them selves out of it then they will have to rectify it sooner or later..

rather than making a thread (not directed at you) and whinging about prices of something, vote with your feet and get that 35R kit... no one is stopping you...

oh man im soooo mad since they raise it 200 im going to get a turbo kit 2x the price. that will show them. Personally anybody that was on the fence WAS NOT SERIOUS about buying the turbo in the first place please. 200 is nothing when it comes to evo parts to be honest. you did not have the funds from jump street otherwise you would have pulled the trigger already and got your sale price.

You're gonna get an Evo X turbo for your Lancer or for your Evo VIII? $200 is almost 15% of the price... it's all relative. Are you saying the OP and the other guy who doesn't want an FP (red or green) at the new price are broke? You know them personally then and know their financial standings? Do you browse the EvoM Evo 10 forums often to discuss IX vs X?

Btw Tephra you're right about the subliminal message to FP, trying to get them to lower their price...

I have to agree with Mike on this one, if the results are not worth the extra $200 for the improvements they made over the last year, buy something else.

A company can charge whatever they feel the market will bear. If you really want to feel loved, buy a $2000 bolt in turbo like I did that claimed it was better in every way, but wasn't track proven. I've made it work with a bit of engineering but I sure wish my turbo had the same time invested in real world testing that FP does on their product.

To the rest of the people clammering to lynch Mike@AwdMotorsports for explaining why the price went up:

I have no idea what brought about FP's decision to return the pricing to normal but it was well known that it was on sale for the longest time so if you missed the sale period that was your mistake. If they are overwhelmed with orders right now it's possible they needed a breather to catch up. Assuming they made $300 profit on the turbos before (number I pulled out of the air as an example), and are now making $500 profit, they would only have to sell 6 turbos to make the same profit as selling 10 before and wouldn't need as much labor on hand to get the same profit. Reality is that over time costs do go up for running a business be it labor or supply costs and people need to understand it's a businesses choice on setting pricing.

The answer is... economics.

If you want it, you'll still buy it.

I believe FP stated from the beginning that the sale price was NOT the original msrp and would eventually go up.

I agree that comparing the price to the 8/9 one is meaningless, because that difference is only because stock X turbo's are cheaper.

But I agree with Mike, Hiboost, Tephra etc. The FPred is worth the price it is at. I own one, well more or less did, not sure if mine survived my engine going down or not. But if I were to get another stock frame, I wouldn't hesitate to get another FPred, even at the "new" price (i also am not sure why people are upset a sale ended).

Ok soooooooooo your saying just because i dont own a evo X i should not learn or gather information on it . Maybe i want to buy one later but seeing how the market goes for them. I collect data all the time to further my knowledge. I like to know things when people ask me about evo 8 9 10. Am i saying they are broke NOPE they would not own a evo if they were unless parents are paying . Im saying again since you did not read what i said. They never planned on buying it from Jump street. Meaning if you were like im getting that turbo because of blah blah blah even if the price went up you would still get it. Now im not saying if they jumped it 500+ dollars then its still cool but in this case 200 compared to what you spend on just a exhaust alone is nothing. Or intercooler pipes nothing. The price was always 1500 etc was just on sale just like those Jordans just like those LCD tv etc.. Sales come and go dont get mad because you did not budget your money right to take part in it. I dont need to know there financial standings to know they did not budget right. Things change in the market everyday you have to be prepared for price increases. I do browse evo x fourms i sure do as i stated i like to learn what i can. I dont own a evo 9 nor do I compare one to another different platforums but money is money.
