FP Red price hike?
I'm not quite sure on why people didn't listen to mike?? he stated why the price "went up" which it really didn't it was just on sale... If your still complaining then its your fault for not buying the turbo sooner when it was on sale.. Oh well if its not in your price range or what you want to pay then buy something different! there's tons of different setups to suite your needs
Im getting at the statement made that you need porting for Red which was posted just above my last post.. They all charge to port..
What does the actuator do for the Blouch turbo that makes it considered to be the BEST??
Im the only VENDOR in here trying to discuss the concerns and shed some light on why it costs more, why price went up, why i believe its a better turbo.. What image is portrayed?? Was i RUDE to anyone by just asking questions about statements made??
You know the Evo X crowd seems to be much different then the 8/9 crowd.. Not sure if the complete change in car attracts a completely different crowd then i am used to but i was just trying to be helpful and point out some obvious reasons why the red costs what it does..

FP Red for IX $1799
Looks like us IX guys should be the ones complaining but we know better.
I can't beleive all this complaining about a product that is no longer on sale. It sux to miss out on a sale but they dont go on forever. Deal with it. What I really cant beleive is that Mike is catching so much crap for trying to shed some light on the subject & offer his expert opinion.
Man mike is one of the best vendors on this site. He offers a helping hand in advice for free and also is not stranger to making deals to help folks out. All he did was state the obvious the turbo is not on sale anymore. Guess what im sure it will go back on sale again now it might be awhile but happens. just evo 8 9 guys pay to play. I prefer not to pay 2020 for a turbo but i know what its capable of and track record. If you feel 200 increase in any product is to much you better keep a stockpile of money so when sales happen you can jump on them. Sometimes you have to save alittle more money to get a good product nothing wrong with that.

Whats funny about all of this is I work package deals for customers who need Pumps, Injectors, Turbos etc that save them over 200.00..

Now don't even get me started on Evo IX vs X, I don't even know why IX's were EVER brought up in this thread. None of that has ANYTHING to do with this topic about the price hike on the Evo X turbos. What DOES have to do with it is the other options available for the Evo X ONLY.
You're right about the sale eventually coming back. When FP gets tired of having record low sales figures for weeks-to-months on end, they'll drop the price back down and sell more. It's a proven fact that when price goes up, quantity demanded goes down, clear across the board, no matter what product you're pushing. If FP is able to do well by cashing in on that extra $200 per unit and sacrifice a few sales here and there, then so be it. In the end, overall profits won't change much.

Go ahead and do a little search or something about the people who have swapped out actuators for Blouch and were happy as can be. I was looking into getting a new actuator for my stock turbo and compared the options available, that's the only reason I know about those who swapped over and were happy they did.
I'm not a customer of yours and likely never will be. Has nothing to do with this thread, but just browsing through it seems like you're coming off as rude. Comments like it was on sale and now it isn't, that's it... doesn't really help. Why was it on sale? Supply and demand ring any bells to you? Market equilibrium? You sound like somebody who might know a thing or two about economics being that you're in the business of selling products. There's been a LOT of points brought up dealing with economics, in short it's all relative to value. Is it not obvious to you that there's a few people in this thread that think FP's products at "regular MSRP" are no longer a good value? That at a lower price they ARE considered a good value?

This, to me, is a polite way of saying something very ignorant.

Yeah if they lose 1 sale out of every 8 because of the price hike, they'll break even.
You asked a few questions and I did my best to answer them... about why the Blouch WGA is better, about how you came across as rude, about how the question of WHY the sale ended was never answered.
If a sale has a set expiration date like "OFFER VALID UNTIL 5/16/10" then you'd likely get a surge of purchases the week leading up to that date and you wouldn't have people asking why the price went up because they knew the sale was ending.
I could be completely wrong and they might have said "SALE EXPIRES IN 7 HOURS" or something but I never saw a date it was supposed to end prior to this thread. Unless they absolutely lose money on every unit sold at the sale price, they could've brought in a bunch of indecisive, last-minute impulse buyers.

"I dont own FP to answer all your questions on why it went on sale." the same goes for why it came off sale..
If i recall correctly there was a MESSAGE on the main page.. " this sale ends on XXX date at End of Day".. So I think possibly you could be wrong..
I recall the message because i ordered some last minute for stock so that i could pass the savings on to 2 of my customers i knew were in the market but did not pull the trigger yet...
maybe it went on sale to get 100 units out there and get some data spread and they could afford the loss @ 100 units but not more..
Mike
Kinda funny how you keep refering to it as a price hike when in reality it's just regular MSRP again. Chances are that they were on sale to move some inventory & are now at a normal stock level. At $1600 is it still a good value & will continue to sell even if a few people feel that other options are better & dont buy one.
maybe this should be converted to a poll?
why did FP increase their Red price:
a) coz they can
b) coz their supply costs increased
c) because they wanted to get a number of proven results out to entice others
d) all of the above...
