Why are you looking for the rear ? I thought it was your front o2 that was acting up?

yeah it is... I tried cleaning it, but it's still giving me minor idle issues and the SES light is still on... so I was going to look it over and possibly try Tephra's idea and swap them. It's either that or get that universal tomorrow, but I hear that anytime you cut and splice wires you loose signal... which isn't the first time i've heard that, don't know how true it is.

Never bothered slicing o2 sensors. Cant determine is the wiring or the sensor is bad. So i just replace the whole unit. Rear o2 is under the passenger seat. The part numbers are different for a whole unit replacement. Yea the sensor might be the same but the connector might be different. I never bothered looking for the rear o2, youll have to take off the passenger seat i'd assume.

densos number is the same.. I think they are different because the rear sensor's wire is something like 6' long.

I would replace the whole unit, BUT the unit is 272.00 vs 43.00? I'm not one to spend all that money, how do I know this one won't go out in no time?

After cleaning it the AFR was more stable so I think that getting some of the carbon off the sensor helped, and maybe it needed more time to sit. I don't know what to do.

You dont have to take out the seat its under a moveable flap of carpet in the upper laft hand corner by the center console side. You might need get a flash light in there to see it better

What gas you running? E85 or Race gas are likely to kill o2 sensors quicker.

Well it took 15k for my o2 to go out. I dont mind paying 272 every 15k considering it took me 2 yrs to hit 15k on the X. Keeps my car running correctly. Pays to play?

oh yeah, definitely agree.... it's just right NOW I can't afford the 272.00, but if I can get it cheaper and if it works then i'm doing pretty good.

I removed my rear sensor on my X a few weeks ago. Slide the passenger seat all the way back and reach your hand through the slit in the carpet, there are quite a few wires under there but just feel around for the one with a rubber grommet leading under the car then follow that one back to the plug. I did it just by feel, no flashlight or seat removal required.

I'm just not sure the front is even long enough to reach the rear bung.

Found a denso OE style... the sensor, wire, and plug for 61.00 + 8.50, so I went with it. I verified it with Denso as well that it was the correct one. Hopefully once I get that, there will be no more problems.
