weird smell when getting on it

Hey guys,

I recently go an 08 X GSR and have noticed that when I give it some gas or full throttle there is sometimes a slight smell afterwards. I don't ride the clutch etc. Although, I could only assume it's the clutch because I have no idea what else it would be. If you guys could give me any ideas I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Derek

what does it smell like? clutch burning is a very strong smell, if you burnt the clutch up a bit the dust will stay in there for a while and continue to smell for a few days

the smell doesn't stay in the car. It goes away shortly after when smelling it. The car has 51,xxx miles on it and as far as I know the clutch has never been replaced. I really don't know what this would be from. Again, i'm assuming the clutch just because they are so weak and feels weak when driving.

^^ Occasionally, I'll catch a faint sulfur smell (ie, rotten eggs) while laying on the throttle or immediately after, and it goes away quickly. From what I understand, this smell is caused by the catalytic converter oxidizing unburnt fuel. I'm still on the factory tune, which is supposed to be overly rich.. so I'm guessing this is normal.

Not sure if that's what you're smelling, though.

You say might be clutch but is it slipping? Have you dumped or launched? When you give it wot in high gear are the rpm's shooting to redline? Check to see If clutch is dragging. When on flat level surface place clutch in and give gas is the car moving? If none problems with clutch and not having clutch smell then would agree with AFD about c c unburned fuel.

I'll give it a shot. I think its fuel burning but the clutch seems pretty weak. Idk if that is how they are supposed to feel but just doesn't feel right.

First I am gonna say I dont think it is the clutch. Now is the smell really strong or is it weak. also, What mods do you have on the car. Do you remove the catalytic converter? I drive 2 Evos both 08 one heavily moded and the other is a cobb stage 2 and the both smell when getting on it.
