Clutch engagement

First of all,I did search but nothing really pertains to my issue.

Background story:
My clutch engagement point before was 1/3 from the floor. I went to the strip and did 1/4 mile pulls. Thing is, I slipped the clutch too much and glazed the disk. After that happened, the clutch engagement point is 2/3 travel from the floor...maybe even 3/4. It's higher than what it used to be.

Not the question at hand is, what can I do to make the clutch engagement point the same as it was before the clutch slipped? I know there's no adjustment on the stock cmc, but is there any way to put it back the way it used to? Or am I stuck at this engagement point until I get an aftermarket cmc?

I'm just wondering why it went higher when it was lower and closer to the ground before?
