New clutch install problem
New clutch install problem
Hi
I've installed spec 3+ clutch kit in a workshop when I went to take the car the first gear won't go into first or second or any, while its off the gear moves good but while engine is running its very hard to put in the first gear I have to push it very hard many times
Any one has this issue before and what is the solution ?

Could possibly be binding of the shifter cables. I'd double check that the bushings are smooth in operation. Next I'd check the clutch hydraulics. Have you looked through the port at the clutch? Notice antthing? How does the pedal feel? After that I think you might have to take it back apart. Good luck
I'm having this issue too, or I should say I HAD this issue and now my car is torn apart and I will be doing a clutch again. I've noticed that when I look up through the peep hole everything is working perfectly. The cable are all good and I have full pedal as well. I'm thinking one of the disc springs popped off. I've had this clutch on for 9k miles and everything else is working and I have no leaks or anything.
When I actually get the trans apart I'll let you know what I find. It won't be until early november though. If you find anything please let me know as well!

Before my car was destroyed I was running the following;
Spec 3+ (not even 2k miles)
AMS CMS
Findanza 9lb Flywheel
I had minor issues where sometimes it would take off smooth...another time it would almost stall... or Id look like a noob and "practically" launch the ***** haha. I didnt have any trouble getting into gear per say, but the engagement point felt different almost every time. I could never figure it out because it was so damn random. I really loved the set up because when it wasnt being gay it worked flawless and felt like OEM. I don't really know anyone else using SPEC 3+ , so its interesting that you were having the same type of issues.
Then again I had a massive fuel system and everything else under the sun so that def "could" have added to take off/low speed issue. I know people hate lightweight flywheels but honestly I didnt notice any "huge" difference when I had the car idling correctly. (incase that issue gets brought up)
