Apparently I am now an official member of the ACD – AYC failure group. I guess I should count myself is one of the lucky ones I have 90,000 miles on the original unit.

Apparently I am now an official member of the ACD – AYC failure group. I guess I should count myself is one of the lucky ones I have 90,000 miles on the original unit, how ever after putting in a new transmission apparently the pump would not start after sitting for six months waiting for the transmission to be shipped and installed. Is it really just the electric motor that fails in these units I would not think the whole unit would need to be replaced. This seems to be an expensive problem. perhaps there is a simple solution. Does anyone know what the number one failure is of these units I am mechanically inclined I'm going to attempt to remove the motor and to see if there is anything obvious that an oil and clean job will not take care of.

Hey Everyone, please file an official complaint. (takes 5 mins online) I contacted NHTSA about this and this is what I got back.
