Greetings!
This thread is for reporting ACD/AYC pump failures in Evo Xs. Please do not use this thread for anything else. It is being set up to document the issue. Please copy the format of the following (which is also the first report):
year: 2008
first sold: 10/2008
pump started to fail: 26,000 miles (10/2012)
pump failed: 28,000 miles (4/2013) - edit: confirmed motor seized 7/2013
cold-start reflashed: never
* both Eastern Iowa Mitsu dealers have said that the pump is not covered by the 5-year PT warranty

Pump Failed: April 28, 2013 /42 43,000 miles
Cold start re-flash: April 25, 2013
*Vehicle purchased used and was not covered under powertrain warranty

pump started to fail: 38,000 miles (11/2012 ) <-- guestimate
pump failed: 40,000 miles (02/2013)
cold-start reflashed: yes right when it was made available
Powertrain warranty up next month and i'm still fighting with the dealer to get them to cover it under warranty. Fuel pump is covered under powertrain, water pump covered under powertrain but not AYC pump wtf :/

Powertrain warranty up next month and i'm still fighting with the dealer to get them to cover it under warranty. Fuel pump is covered under powertrain, water pump covered under powertrain but not AYC pump wtf :/

* Mitsu dealers have said that the pump is not covered by the 5-year PT warranty. No way will I pay over $2 grand for the dealer to fix it. Looking into other options. . .

pump started to fail: 56,723 (6/2013) <- 4 days before bumper-to-bumper warranty ends
pump failed: ?
cold-start reflashed: ?
note: dealer I went to submitted a claim right after the initial check-up, waited for the replacement part about 2.5 weeks... and finally warranty replacement done

Pump started to fail: 86600 miles message popped up with it being extremely hot out. Not sure if that means the pump is actually failing or if it just needs service in general.<br />
Pump failed: hasn't failed yet and the system works fine when the temperature is below 90 degrees or so.<br />
Cold-start reflashed: Never
