I finally pulled the trigger on an AWD car to throw some dollars at to make fast and picked the EVO X. I've owned a modified STi, and an MK4 R32, and I have to say this car is absolutely the most fun. It's the most impractical, noisy, non-mainstream vehicle of the trio but I think that's what adds to the fun of the car.
Anyway, I've decided to go built motor/big turbo/E85. As the build progresses, I'll release details accordingly . Looking at 4 weeks for the engine, 2 weeks for the turbo kit/tune at worst. Then, dyno sheets etc. to follow. Cheers and message if there's any advice from big power guys on the forums on stuff you guys have come across!
As far as a HP goal, I'd like to be mid 500's on pump, and mid 600's on E.
GT35 is where we're leaning for the turbo.
Nice, is it mainly going to be a road course or drag car? If you plan on driving it on the street a good amount i would suggest going with a 2.2 stroker. Helps with spooling that big turbo and gives you more tq for around town and if you don't bore it you maintain the full strength of the sleeve.

It is mainly going to be a street car and you definitely aren't wrong there. I've heard mixed things about the 2.2 strokers and durability for whatever reason. I took CBRD's advise ultimately and left it at factory displacement so we will see what the dyno graph looks like and the car feels when finished. Also too late to turn back now bottom end is done, lol.
So we will see. The car will have a pump gas tune as well so I'm interested to see the drivability of it all. My VR6 turbo had a violent onset around 4,500 and pulled hard to redline but it sheared axles and other drivetrain stuff.
The 94mm crank in the X isn't a good idea. It pulled the piston skirt out the bottom of the cylinder. The rod ratio is also pretty bad.
Sticking with a 2.0 in the X is the way to go.
I've heard a lot of things about the displacement game with the 4B11T. The common theme is for "standard" big turbo builds retaining the 2.0 is the way to go. So we will find out how drivable it is. I'll post track and street videos to see her manners under WOT and partial throttle when it's all together.
We're still three-five weeks out probably with some juicy updates starting in about two lol.

Make sure it's a GTX35 not a GT.
I was pleasantly surprised how responsive my build was/is. 2.0L 10:1 CR with a 5858 BB SS. Especially for it making 570 MD and 640 DJ. I rev it out to 8,600 and it makes power all the way.
What part of Baltimore are you from? Looking forward to your build.
I'm just outside the city in the White Marsh area. Yea, I'm excited for it all to come together. I really enjoyed the car, and I think the factory seats are my favorite seats of any car I've ever been in.
