I bought a IX because to me it is the last true Evolution

That's a great reason...oh no wait, the 4G63 was also used/shared with daimler/chrysler and hyundai.

I fell in love with the motor all my friends call bullet proof and the boxy sedan that could whip a 2 door SS camaro. I bought a IX because I felt this is the last year my dream car will be made. I couldnt pass it up. Do you all think the X has the power to become so many peoples dream car like all the other evo's? Do you think the X is truly a "Lancer Evolution"? Just curious.
i did the same like you did, bought an evo IX(mr)just a week ago.made my dream come true
Why is this thread still up. Any car can be made to handle well and go fast. Stock for stock the new evo may be faster, but that is why there are aftermarket products to make the cars lighter and faster. In the end it's all about who has the more money.
The current evo's have proven themselves to be well rounded cars with an awesome engine. Hopefully the new platform can live up to the expectations of the current gen Evo's.

I believe the X will be a better car, but not necessarily an Evo. The CT9A platform was at least run in races and rally cross for many years and much of what was learned from racing was transferred to the consumer. The X looks to be more or a street car and with no attention paid to it's rally heritage. Mistu is out of Rally too which REALLY bothers me.
The IX to me is the ULTIMATE expression of the 4G63, a full 20 years of enhancement and development has led to that. It's a 1 year stop gap car which went out on top, to me that is reason enough alone to own one. The X is will attract an all new crowd, more refinement and a better street car. I have no idea if it'll be a better track car but it's platform (Albeit a platform sharing bastardization) is promising as well.
Things have to change I guess, and I chose to stick with the 4G63 which has a generation of Knowledge and parts made for it. It may not be the new kid on the block but it'll be King for a WHILE.

And don't give me the aftermarket parts BS, believe me, there will be a TON of parts for the X!!!
Until we have actual results of the Evo X...4g63t is still king.
I love how people ASSUME how the Evo X will perform. Please do not quote magazine references....not everyone a professional/skilled driver.
What is this WHEN BS? You have the ability to look into the future I see, that or you are ***UMING. The 4G63 has 20 years of development while the new X is just that, brandy new and will take many years of Trial and error before it reaches the ease and second hand nature the DSM/EVO world so conveniently provides. Just look at how long the 350 has been around? Jesus how easy is it tomake that thing fast.
