I bought a IX because to me it is the last true Evolution
90% really isnt accurate..but sheer number is not important. What I was trying to say is that the majority of evo owners only have participated in drag style events....whether street racing or drag strips. Take a look at vids, people's signature, posts, or threads. For example: "Can my evo beat (insert car here)?" or "My evo just went xx.xxx." Look at some of the sponsors: AMS, Buschur, etc. Yes they race in other events, but the emphasis is on straightline performance. Reality is that it brings in customers.
Each person has a different reason for purchasing an evo. But honestly....the evo is a very quick car for it's price. Even though the original intention of buying is it's all around performance....it usually ends up being about how fast one can from 1/4 mile, light to light, or highway fun.
I am not bashing the Evo. The new look doesnt do it for me....it is not as raw or edgy as the 8/9. Like I have stated in previous posts in this thread, my final judgement will be after I test drive and research how the new engine responds to modificication.

i am afraid your are talking to a person far from a teeny bopper.
The reason why I ask is that language is one of my specialties especially about having to break down someone's premise to prove what the article entailed.
The problem here is that you cannot read and put 2 things together.
Since enlightenment in needed here; the article did state that the new evo is slower and heavier, but it is a more refined the previous. From all the new parts on the car, design, ergonomics within is a massive improvement over any of its predecessor.
That part alone cancels out the latter negative.
The article puts together all of the components on the new engine on how the car has evolved from the previous Evos.
And handling is part of the car's performance.
It has already stated that the car body itself is incredibly strong and how the engine can match a person's ability to drive a car. The body itself puts all the previous EVO bodies to shame on the chassis, suspension, etc.
Hell the new Lancer's body is stronger then the IX. That has been stated in quite a few articles.
The article opens up questioning how a car can evolve when it's already at it's peak. And it tells you about how the X is the answer. The X is an improvement.
So it drops a few horses, big deal.
But handling can make up for it. There is so many more improvements that make the car much better.
It's like saying the old lancer is better then the new Lancer in all of it's shape and form.
The new Lancer is heavy and yet, the car is still a massive improvement over the others.
Just like the previous EVOS all share the same platform as the Lancers. But with more power, mods and structural enhancements. etc.
You cannot explain because as you go through the article, it is actually giving quite an amount of praise on the amount of work that went into the car.
That's how a car evolves.
You see, a few negative parts of the review doesn't justify that the car isn't better.
They are trying to find all the flaws for the car. There is always room for improvement. These guys are paid to find flaws.
And you who are not even close to an expert, who has their own opinion, bash on the car w/o any support.
I am afraid you are the one who needs to grow up and pay more attention to details first before you read between the lines, because you might end up missing alot more valuble info.
Once you understand the root, then you can understand the end that justifies the means.
Grow up, kid.

Since when is the eVo known for its bling and luxury? Because that's what the X seems to be...more luxury than sport...How can you sit here and compare the iX to a regular lancer...? So the lancer has a stronger chasis...crappier suspension and is FWD vs the iX...LOL...think...even with the stronger chasis...which will handle better the iX or the new lancer? LOL...I dont plan on taking my iX off roading on a rally course anytime soon...do you plan on doing that with the new lancer? LOL...come on man...You know what the X evolved to? A wanna be sports luxury saddan that happens to have a turbo...it lost the sport part for sure...Again
screwed up IMO...but at the same time it makes the VIII and especially the iX more desirable and hopefully will keep these cars in value...so in a way...hail to the X...
Who are you? and what do you want...

That's it.
I am a nice guy and I respect everyone on this forum. But if you start something, I will finish it.
That's not a threat, that's a guarantee.
I never stated that the Lancer was better then the IX.
I have the utmost respect for the IX. It's a great car. Like I said in the previous posts, I will not argue that point.
The X evolved into something YOU are not used to.
And it got it's influence from a company that makes the best trannies in the world.
The AUDI/VW team came out with engines that dusted the EVO's.
Google it, Youtube it, whatever you want. The facts are everywhere.
That's why I asked, if you are going to bash a car, please provide backup on why.
Intelligent support. Simple.
Instead, out of spite you rather be an ***. So why should anyone take you seriously? That just makes YOU look like a teeny bopper.
You know what I have noticed...that too many people here require explanations...I got what you said the first time without you having to further explain yourself...and I agree with you...I would also say...majority of eVo owners will do more drag racing than anything since it happens to be on the street where 90% of the time we spend our times with the eVo at...The eVo is an all around car but here in Chicago we really don't have any twisties we can take the car to truely appreciate what its meant to do...its more of a straight line thing over here...
It's not that people require an explanation, it's the fact when you speak of something, and you drill it, people would like to know some information.
Something as easy as applying on the purchase of a car.
Would you like to buy a car on impulse or would you like to know what your buying? And if you are a person who likes to know what they are buying into, I would think any person with common sense is going to do some research.
Hence, your explantion.
But if you cannot express what you are saying properly, then the target person(s) would like you to clarify it. That way you won't be misconstrued, misunderstood and your point reached the mark with the proper clarification.
Fundamental social interaction.
I would have expected much better from a person from Chicago.
Me?
I am Chino.

Sounds like someone has a 9 on the ALERTNESS scale.

How about the simple fact that I don't like the way the X looks...it looks...looks too much like a regular lancer that crossbred with an Audi/Mazda/ some other grocery getter...it has lost its raw image it once had...its big...heavy...not enough improvements to upgrade...new engine that has not as much support from the aftermarket as the 4g63t...Not too mention it no longer appeal to the enthusiast...I see this car competing on the same demographic as people considering a BMW or an Audi...
LOL...I guess we should probably just blame the american educational system...I see you writing...but its all repetion...I am answering your questions...but you're drawing a blank...

I can be far more intricate and complex, but i need to make sure my explanation on the car hits it's mark.
Drawing a blank?
ok.... 'dude'
OK...did you understand my post in regards my feelings on the X?...if so...than go on...tell me the advantages of the X over the iX...please amuse me more...
Things never change people buy C6 Z06's and guess what all they want is the power and 1/4 performance and that is about 90% of the owners as well. What makes you think the majority of new Evo X owner's will be any different?
Same thing can be said about Skyline's
