to the OP:

go for a test drive for the X when you can. if you like it, and everything is in your way then BUY IT if you really like it. driving a fast car doesnt mean you will GUARANTEE wreck it.. i know a friend who got his license and drove his dad's porsche for a year who didnt get into any accidents. he now has his own 328i and is taking good care of it. If you really like it and wont settle for less go for it. screw what others think / say.

im sure wht we may say here wouldnt really make a difference in ur decision, but i guess really just when u get a chance to test drive it, if i were u id make a list of cars that ud like to test drive in ur price range, and then make ur final decision when u drive all of them

cause the worse thing u can do is buy a car and then be unsatisfied with it. i mean get the car which really excites u most, the last thing ud want 2 do is get a car ur unsatified with u and later down the road ur like dam y didnt i choose that car, trust me iv been there, u dont want 2 do buy anything ull regret later on

so just do ur research, also before u buy the car u should really think things over like insurance, even though ur parents may b paying for it but howabout the day when u stop relying on ur parents and start paying for ur own insurance consider how much ud have to pay for it cause ur a young driver, and i dont think gas will b as cheap as something like a fit, i think this car will b a gas guzzler ( dont quote me on that cause iv never had an evo or sat in 1) and with gas raising prices at rising i dono if its worth the investment at this age, also think of how long ull keep the car 4 as well, i no alot of ppl your age will say that they will keep it forawhile but honestly kids change there minds from 1 day 2 the next now

so just do ur research b4 u buy the car

I agree with one of the posters in that you may not appreciate what you're driving.

I've been stuck with the family van for a long time while my friends all owned really cool cars. I'm convinced that if I had a nice car to start, I would not have appreciated it anywhere as much.

better off driving your brothers GLI, to know a car and feel how its like to drive first before getting the evo x, I know you want the X but, not a good idea.. You have to have exprance to drive a car like that. So drive your brother's car feel the art of driving and learn how to handle a car first before you get the X.

^ best first post ive ever seen.

i really want an x, but if i got a sedan id just get a lancer than a evo hood wing and body kit, insurance wont be sky high and itll still look cool. and you can handle the hp of it.

get it if somehow you can pay insurance, it will be much more than the evo 8 I am hoping for. I just have a few more months till I can get a lisence.

It's butt ugly though... but good bang for your buck if you're in a budget.

How new of an STI? I hope your not talking about the hatch, cause if my parents got me that I would have pissed on it and rode my bike to school.

Get the evox and tell your friends or that little guy on your shoulder to STFU if they try to get you to street race or act the fool in general. It would be an awesome first car if you have self control and aren't a jackass that drives around high or drunk or thinking you're hot ****. Take your time to get used to it and what it can do. Start autocrossing every month to find the limits and you should be good.

EDIT: nm you got an sti... trader
