I will not ruin it for by telling you came out on top after 5 laps around Tsubaka, the new light-speed shifting fancy paddle non-automatic double clutch tranny or the lame & old 5 speed with with a foot powered clutch.

The comparison I'd like to see is a X SST in S-Sport mode run against a X SST being driven in manual mode.

The question being not just whether the SST can pick better shift points than the driver but whether it uses the same software settings for clutch engagement and rev matching for the manual mode shifting as the auto mode shifting. It would really suck if they crippled the manual mode shifting with some sort of alternative software from the auto shifting that made it slower.

I'd also like to see numbers not just on how fast SST shifts but how long it takes to shift from the time you initiate a shift in manual mode. It doesn't matter if the transmission can shift in x ms if it takes 4x ms to react to a manual shift. That's probably going to be the biggest determining factor on how it feels to the driver.

From this video, it looks like a X SST in S-Sport mode beats a X 5MT:

Evo X (SST vs Manual) and Electronic Settings [1/3]

Though the gearing may have a much to do with it as the quick shifts.
