even the miata has been upgraded over the years

 

I think the idea behind the X is to make it more grown up. A lot of STI and evo guys are growing up and out of the fast a furrious winged warrior cars, but they want the performance of them in something nice and more cival. I have been looking at bmw's M3, audi S4 and acura's TL hot rod and the evo X has the look of these higher end cars with awsome performance. It might not be as fast as before, but if your growing out of hot rodding on the street and want to look good and have the power to overtake three cars on the highway then the X is for you. I dig it and think it looks great without the wing and will have one in the future if the 4b11t and new tranny hold up.

 

This is all good and well. . .but not if the car is going to cost close to 40,000. THAT is my gripe. People forget what the insurance is going to be on this car. I am willing to bet that at least for the first couple years it is going to be no different than the previous generation. . .OUTRAGEOUS. I am 22, have had no accidents, no tickets, good student, use same company to pay for 3 cars, and was quoted $2500 a year on this car. If the insurance companies price this car based on just its name, there is no way its worth it. . .i'm sorry. I then got a quote on how much a 135i would be and since its not out yet and the lady had no idea what i was talking about, she just gave me a quote for the "fastest BMW there is" and it was $600 CHEAPER!!

I could be wrong, but doesnt a vehicle's safety rating also play a large role in determining insurance cost? The 2 star rating on the Evo VIII and IX is terrible, but i'm pretty sure this upcoming Evo is going to have at least a 4 or 5 star rating...insurance should go down significantly.

Yeah, i'm paying about 200/month in insurance right now. Sucks, but the car is worth it.

 

i think ur missing the point....i'm talking about sports car performance as compared to other sports cars out there like the evo, sti, 350z, etc.
