It's wishful thinking and it's just not going to happen.
You should really tell the guys over at Mitsu about this "brain power", that is some valuable insight.

In all seriousness, they do this for a living. What do you base your claims off of? Despite the Evo X being an apparent total failure in carrying the Evo namesake, I'd say Mitsu knows what they are doing in terms of maintaining and growing the company as a whole.

The guys who marketed the Edsel did it for a living too.

The more I hear about the Evo X the less I like it. Mitsu sold out. This car is to Mitsu what the Corvette is to GM. Its the one car that they have that is (or should be) the defining image of the company, yet they fail to market it that way. Look at a GM tv ad. Every single one has a Corvette in it somewhere. Has anyone ever seen an Evo in a Mitsu ad? And now by trying to soften it up a little, they've compromised the vision that created the car in the first place. I really wouldn't be too surprised if Mitsu isn't selling cars in the US 10 years from now.

thats true but im sure the RS will be the EVO everyone is wanting, just wait for the US version. I mean mitsu cant turbo a galant and make it compete with audi a4 and such they used something that is pretty high up in performance already and just refined it a little and as the years go they will figure a way to make it more refined and have another version to please the evo fanboys so the car would please everyone overall and carry mitsu up in its sales just my 2 cents

My issue with it isn't whether they've dolled it up or not. The thing is a freaking tank. It weighs as much as my Ford Ranger. And weight hurts every performance aspect: acceleration, cornering, braking, and transitional behavior.

you guys know that 90% of evos do not get tracked??? most cars are bought and mildly modified and driven to 75% of their ability. I mean for the true enthusiasts that track their cars, it may not be for you. But The X is going to sell, to kids, adults, etc... plus it looks HOT AS HELL.

The evo is turning out to be like the BMW. The first BMWs were made to race and for performance like the first evos. Now the evo X is not all about the performance they are trying to make it more of a luxury car in my opinion. Each is his own i am starting to like how the X looks now. But i think the last real performance evo was the 9. The X does not seem like the other race inspired evos which is good for every one that wanted a evo that was thinking the other models were too much about perfromance and not enough about DD. But me i am for now going to stick with my VIII. But i can't wait to see people start to mod these X and see how they perform. But the X still has crapy seats i thought the 9 seats were better.

Why does everyone keep throwing around luxury car?? Can you name one thing about the X that makes it a *LUXURY CAR*. I can't seem to point my finger on one thing on that car that is luxurious.......

They improved the interior but its FARRR from luxury.....

They are trying to make it luxury. Maybe the next model will have more luxury. But it is not all about performance like the last 9 evos before it. they are targeting a different crowed with it now just like the BMWs did. that is the point.

well its a good thing that bush has told automakers to lighten up their cars... a lot of performance cars coming out now are just getting out of hand with their weight, and the evo X is one of them.

yep defenietly some cars have unneccecery weights. Specially sports cars.
I think the problem is the people want everything. Back then was a sports cars, family cars, high class cars and luxury cars etc.
Now they kind a try to wash them together.
My opinion that is bad. Give a sports car without cup holder electric window etc.
But give me the high class car with everything and dont need to be perform or try to be sports car. I wouldn't race it anyway. Like the flying soccer moms in the turbo acura suv
the NAME of that car type is even nonsense.: Sport Utility Vehicle.
Think about it....

I believe mitsu has made many mistakes with the X. But many of those mistakes might have been averted if they simply would have offered the RS as a choice for us in the U.S.---I dont understand why mitsu simply decided to not even allow us to have a choice. I assume the RS would have been about 3400lbs, and while still more than the sti, a hell of alot better than the 3600lbs for the MR.

it now includes cruise control and they offer navi AS AN OPTION, but i wouldnt call it a luxury car

look at it this way, the civic offers a navi option as well as leather, would you call that a "luxury car"?
