By big juicy steak you mean a car that is only faster in a straight line and that's all it has going for it? Crap interior (rattles like a tin can), no cruise control, looks outdated, safety rating is crap, ****ty daily driver, doesn't even have AYC... Shall I say more?

Now don't get me wrong the guys that have IX's those ars still bad *** cars, but you IX guys need to get off your high horse the car is history now the one thing it does better is that it goes faster stock for stock, that's about it. No one knows how well the X takes to mods and who here actually has more than 500 whp on their IX? Sure there is the few that made that crazy hp but I'm almost positive the X will be able to muster at least 400+ whp that's enough for me.

Enjoy the IX's and let people that want to get the X enjoy theirs. What do you IX guys have to prove if your car is faster? Be happy with what you have and let people be happy with what they have. This is a pissing contest between the IX's and the X's we all like different cars let's agree on that for once.

If I wanted a modern-looking, high safety rated appropriate daily driver, I already would've bought a Hyundai.

Or a Toyota.

Or a Mazda.

Or a Kia.

All of which the X resembles. Enjoy your generic_car_05.

Are you really going to stand there and tell me that the EVO X doesn't look good? Say what you want about the straight line performance, I too am disappointed with that aspect of the car. However, I'm still buying the car because of everything else that it does better than your IX. It handles better, brakes better even with the added weight, and it looks like a high end sports sedan, not an econo car with a boy racer spoiler on it. It's the better all around package, fact, not opinion. Now, that may not be what you want in a car, but it is what most people want. I used to be like you when I was 20, but at my age now I can't deal with driving a car that looks like a 16 year old's wet dream. You'll get there too one day, hopefully. Until then, enjoy what you got, Vin Diesel.

The x looking better is purely subjective. So your comment is your opinon and is not science

I know alot of people over 40 that have evo's that are well mature. They will not be buying the x no time soon. I know people who race evo's that drove the x in japan will not be getting the x no time soon. They make more money than you and me so that is not a problem. So your comment is only your opinion and others on this board and not fact. Purely subjective.

1LT isn't the engine morons , they all come with 430hp LS3. 1LT is the trim package, which is the most basic that a vette comes. You can get a 1LT 2008 for $39999 + destination fee ($850), tax, and title.

That is comparable to an MR, only the 430hp vette will literally pwn the face off any evo X it races, even with heavy mods on the evo, all while getting better gas mileage and more looks.

Next time you might want to google info about other cars if your general knowledge is lacking that much. P.S. other trims for the corvette are 2LT and 3LT (includes Nav/etc). That's where they get more costly.

In addition, I'm commenting on what trustworthy sources... i.e. car and driver, road and track, etc have tested this new car as. All the evo fanboys or people who already put down desposits were hoping and praying there would be some magical underrating on the hp or that they'd crank it up to be faster a month or two before delivery and it's not going to happen.

It's a gas guzzling queen and about as fast (or only slightly faster) than a mazda speed 6, which is a $10,000 cheaper car and gets better gas mileage.

while I like the X, I must say this guy is right. I was looking at a 3LT Z51 08 vette a few months ago and the car is just nuts. handles awesome, brakes awesome, runs 12.4@112 bone stock pretty easily, and looks awesome. Supercharge it and you get 550whp on 93 octane for under 10k and it runs and drive just like stock. Drive it to the movies, dinner, night out with the lady, and still have an easy mid 11 sec car on street tires. O AND IF you get pulled over, the cop is probably going to complement the car before letting you go with a wave and/or thumbs up.

I cant lie guys, if I could squeeze a new Z06, i'd be ALLLLLL over it. After driving it, the evo just doesnt compare. But I dont expect it too, the z06 is 70k. And yea for 70k you can make an evo kill a z06 but then again for 30k I can make a civic kill an evo.

What people dont realize here is the evo X is TOMORROW, like it or not, its the evolution 10 which comes after the 9 and people are gonna buy it no matter what. Thats why I'm buying one ASAP so i can rip into it and learn as much as possible as soon as possible and hopefully be one of the first pioneers. We'll be building 3" non restrictive SS mandrel bent exhausts for the car and have dyno numbers before and after within a week or 2 of owning the car.

Gotta love the internet tough guys. An "I'm sorry, I mistyped LT1" would have sufficed.

FYI there are huge discounts on both the Z06 (advertised with NAV for about $64K) and the M3 and M roadster (both very low 40s). If I didn't have an IX I would seriously consider those choices right now.

I love reading this thread and listening to all the whiney yuppies argue about which is better, 8 ,9, or 10. Even though no one even has the ten yet personally so how can they really know.

The people are whinning about the x for what they see so far. You are right though, until we get in the car we will not know if it is a complete package like some say. It just hurts that all test so far on the japan side is not head turning
