You should really tell the guys over at Mitsu about this "brain power", that is some valuable insight.
In all seriousness, they do this for a living. What do you base your claims off of? Despite the Evo X being an apparent total failure in carrying the Evo namesake, I'd say Mitsu knows what they are doing in terms of maintaining and growing the company as a whole.

someone put a EVO X mr along with a 335i in front of me and said take your pick I wouldnt think twice before jumping into the BMW.
You along with every other person ask youself that. Because when your going to be spending 500+ a month on a car payment whats 50-100 more to have the car with more performance, image, prestige, and to the layman; quality?
This is all Mitsubishi had to do before making blatant and bold movements to the European performance sedan buyers.
you guys know that 90% of evos do not get tracked??? most cars are bought and mildly modified and driven to 75% of their ability. I mean for the true enthusiasts that track their cars, it may not be for you. But The X is going to sell, to kids, adults, etc... plus it looks HOT AS HELL.
Steve, I can guarantee you that half of the Evos in the united states have seen some sort track time in there life or will in the future.
The X will sell, but we are all going to miss the hard edged spirit and heritage the car came from. Sell it will, Sell out it is.
anyhow, back on topic, stopped by dealer yesterday and was looking right at computer screen with him as he pulled his pdf spec sheet and,,.......TBD so no msrp yet.
However he has several GSRs coming in on 2/9 and 2/10 and this is after a delay or 2.

Really? Because Mitsubishi seems to think otherwise. So does Motor Trend. But you've done your market research better than Mitsu and MT, I suppose.
Go to ANY BMW FORUM and talk about a Evo or STI and see the response you get. The majority of BMW guys call Evos and STIs "Rice". The only forum that seems to have a little evo/sti support is E90post.com and that only because there is about two handfuls of Ex-evo/sti owners on there.
The standard GSR will come with non-Xenon projector beam lamps, NOT the Lancer style halogen cannisters. The GSR WILL come with the Lancer GTS spoiler as standard with the taller MR spoiler as part of the SSS pkg.
if they did their research they didnt do it well ....

Man, this is how rumors get started. Poor info. from people who don't have a clue.

Anyone that calls the Evo and STI "rice" does not know the meaning of the word and is ignorant. Therefore, their opinion is worthless. E46 M3 guys don't like Evos because they get outhandled on the track and burned in the straights (ok, this might be a slight exaggeration - they are pretty evenly matched). They get upset because they spent alot more money and have the "bimmer" fanboy attitude that there is no better/pure performance car...let alone at a lesser price and from Japan.
...my point was simply Mitsu didnt do their research that well if they think they can pull sales away from BMW and Audi as the majority of BMW/Audi owners are HUGE fan boys and think pretty much anything Japanese is "Rice"

Its not a japanese thing. Many M3 owners are considering the GT-R and do not call the ISF "rice". I'm not a bigot - I'd buy a X if I didn't have to lose my drivetrain warranty to make it even approximate the performance of my old M3. The interior plastic is another glaring issue but performance is the big issue.
The "rice" comment is born out of the stock wing and garish mods. Now that the e46 M3 is cheaper for younger buyers it is getting garish mods and we call those "rice" as well.

.Sorry this rant was a bit off-topic...
Agreed.
I just find it funny because I know the E36 M3 had a big wing on one of its limited production models that i'm sure is very highly desired. I know you are not a bigot, i've read your posts in the past. I'm not saying all M3/BMW owners are bigots, just that you'll find alot of them. And what I hate the most about them, is that they fail to properly acknowledge the performance capabilities of other cars and especially look down upon any lesser priced/lesser brand recognized performance car. Basically, they solely base their performance evaluations on image and image alone - my Dad was one of them...that was until he drove my IX
