just when everything pointed that Mitsu was ahead of the game with the release of the X, the new STI pricing, options, specs, availability is all accessible now.
STI is already on their site, BAMMO

Inside Line reminds us that the previous Lancer Evo IX started at $28,679
what's funny is, if they left off the fancy diffs like they did on the previous models, to keep the price and weight down, we would be complaining we got the short end of the stick again...so there is no pleasing us it would seem.
So the U.K. gets the evo x pricing before the U.S. http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsAr...llCars/229685/
Well not necessarily but if you want to, be my guest
Don't forget also that the above figures are conservative given the recent depreciation of the US$ against most currencies.
Without getting into an economic debate and in the context of this forum it's something some people might contemplate when they complain about the vehicle being too expensive. More importantly from my personal perspective, why on earth are cars so damn expensive here?

Mitsubishi Evo X prices announced
18 December 2007 18:07
Mitsubishi has just announced prices for the tenth evolution of its Lancer, and it will cost considerably more than its rival from Subaru. The cheapest Evo X will be £27,499, £2504 more than the Subarua Impreza WRX STi.
But if you’re not in the market for the all-out, all-paw Lancer then fear not, because the base 1.5-litre front-wheel drive model will cost only £12,499, just £4 more than the equivalent Scooby. A five-door Sportback model will follow, going on sale on 1 September 2008.
And what if I want something to fill the gap between the shopping trolley and supercar-slaying models?
There’s now a mid-range Evo to answer your prayers, and to take on the WRX Impreza. Called the Lancer Ralliart, it comes with a 237bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, four-wheel drive and a twin-clutch transmission. No word on prices yet, but expect it to cost at least £22,000, over two grand more than the manual Subaru.
But what about the full-on Evo X?
Oh yes, that little chestnut. There are three trim levels; GS, GSR, and GSR SST. GS only gets you a five-speed manual, whereas GSR means six forward gears, while the aptly named GSR SST gives you the twin-clutch Sport Shift Transmission. The Evo X makes 290bhp from its turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, although it's called the FQ-300.
Any other FQ models?
Available from launch will be both FQ-330 and –360 models with HKS power upgrades. The FQ-330 gets an ECU re-map amongst other tweaks, while the FQ-360 gets even more go-faster goodies, including a Sonic hedgehog-esque vortex generator on the roof.
Power outputs and performance figures will be available shortly, but prices have been announced. The 330 model will start at £30,499 in GS-spec, while the 360 will be £35,499. GSR-spec will set you back a further £2k, and the twin-clutch transmission is currently not available on the FQ models.

AHHH! the vortex generator is coming back!
the 6spd man is a typo
All Evo X models come with a five speed manual gearbox, with the exception of the £31,999 FQ-300 GSR SST, which features Mitsubishi’s new six-speed, paddleshift, twin clutch sports shift transmission.

guys, that info is for EUROPE.
over here we get GSR and MR.
GSR come 5 speed
MR comes SST
GSR comes with halogens as a base model, but a SSW package adds sunroof, sound system, hid's and WING package. IDK if the base GSR comes with a small wing or no wing at all.
MR comes in A12 and A13 package. The A12 is called technology package with comes with FASTKEY (keyless starting with a little knob) 30GGB NAVI, rockford 330watt sound system. Without that, you get the standard cd player, no sunroof, etc... ALL MR"S have the BBS wheels
its very similar to how 06 evos were, just now there 2 diff MR packages.
People are complaining about the 40k price? Take a 9 MR, and add OEM Navi with a 30GGB HD, add the fast key, add a sound system and now 18" BBS wheels. MR's were 37k before. All that extra stuff isnt worth 3k?
But people will buy a 9 MR and put 18" rims on it for 2-3k, 2k Pioneer AVIC Z2, and spend another 1000$ or so if they are into music. Base MR's will probably be around 38k considering they now have 18's, AYC, etc...
People keep comparing it to the BMW. I almost bought a 335I Coupe, I love the car, but c'mon guys. Everyone keeps saying cuz its a BMW, etc... This is an EVO, it has evoness to it. its not supposed to compete with the bmw. And IDK whats under the hood, AMS, BUSCHUR, TURBOTRIX, TOP LEVEL, CBRD, etc... all are buying evo 10's and will be ripping it apart ASAP. You guys know why? Because the evo 10 is TOMORROW. Time to evolve guys!!!
