EVO 10 or 2008 z06?
Need some advice...
I looked at the EVO X and the Corvette 2008 z06...
I like both...
Since I work for GM, I can get the z06 at employee discount (61,000)
EVO X is about 36k or more for the MR...45k?
I must say the z06 is a beast..i drove it for a few miles and got scared...its like ridding a bull at the rodeo..not sure if its practical on the street.
EVO X , dont know yet..no dealer in CT has one...
?

If you can afford the Corvette, get it. The MR should be around 37k before taxes, etc. You also have to think about insurance. I'm willing to bet the insurance is way higher on the Corvette. Also, 2 seats or 5 seats, that's another question you need to ask yourself. I would choose the Evo myself. I actually see more Corvettes on the road here than Evos.
Thats a question only you can answer yourself man. They are two different cars, with two different use cases. They are both great track cars, but the vette will leave you stranded at the first sign of snow or other slippery conditions.
For me, the Evo, any version, is just more practical. 4 Doors, so you can get more people in the car. AWD system that allows you to go places the vette would never be able to approach, and its more comfortable for a tall guy. I never could get used to the vettes seating position. Felt like I was going to fall asleep since its so reclined.
However, these are just my own impressions. Yours are going to be different.

Acewolf has both, ask him. Here's a link to his review.

As far as all out insane performance, you won't get much better than a z06 (for the price) but it'd going to see mostly street, the X will be much more practical wih it's 4 doors and AWD, as well as being PLENTY of fun to drive

I have the base 2008 Corvette with Z51, NPP, Comp Grey wheels. I have added a cam/headers and intake, and now I have 500 RWHP. Im coming from an EVO9 MR. I daily drive the Vette, and I think it is an awesome daily driver (unless you live where it snows). If I could get a Z06 that cheap, I would by one immediately. I have an even better idea, you hook me up with a sweet deal on one? J/K. (not really) They are both nice cars, but the Z06 is a super car. The EVO is an awesome performing S-Box Rally car. Good luck and keep us posted on what you decide.

thats a no brainer the 08 z06 can do anything better then the evo and looks better doing it!! you just have to get use to the car witch you will unlike an evo where you can jump rite in and the car is very easy to hits its limits for an avrige driver where as the z06 you have to be a better drive and its hard to hit its limits."62mph in first! end of 3rd well over a 100mph" but thats if you dont mind spending all that exrta money?? if i had a lot of extra cash to spend on a car and i was getting a better deal on the z06 then the gtr i would take it but thats just me as far as the evo go's to sum it up its a really good all around car!!

Young guys drive and wreck Evos.
Older guys drive Corvettes carefully and, overall, have a much better driving record. They have already been there and done that.
EVo and Z06
I have an 05' GSR and an 07' ZO6 and can tell you that the ZO6 is the more enjoyable of the two to drive because the power is insane going to the rear tires. This provides the ability to kick the rear out at will in any corner. You also have the ability to light up the rear tires at any speed in first gear (0 to 64 mph) which is a lot of fun. If you can buy the Z06 at such a discount it would be a no brainer. They are two different cars with different capabilities (and prices) so it is interesting that they would be on anyone's new purchase list together. If you can afford to spend $65k for a car I don't know why you would even consider the Evo. In fact, if I were in the market to buy a $40k car in the near future that had to have room for 5 I would be looking at the BMW 135i (twin turbo 6, rear drive).
