HP vs weight. I will deside when the GT-R gets here and I take delivery...if it can perform like they claim then let the mods begin If not I"ll flip it.

BTW the GT-R is not going to be hitting low 11's high 10's and traping 124 -128mph STOCK and there have been quite a few Z06's that have done it.

Think about itl the Z06 has 505hp @ 3050-3100LBs (options change lbs) vs the GT-R with 470hp @ 3800lbs. Do the math! AWD is a benifit on the street. At the track a RWD car will almost always cut better 60fts. FI cars also can get Heat soak on a road course vs NA and that is a consern so until I get some real world tests on the GT-R I will wait to call out numbers and claims.

If I recall, edmund have done a test on the jdm model, here have a look:

sorry for , and congrats on your new Z06

The Z06 and Evo arent even in the same class anyway. 80k+ car vs 35k car?? At least compare apples to apples. Hrmm, should I get the Enzo or the Dodge Aries?? GUYS WHAT YOU THINK?

Luckily for me I have both.

Evo 9 MR, E63 w/ P30 package, and a 06' Z06.

But if I had to choose, I would pick the Z06. Nothing compares to being able to pull on just about any car, in any gear. I especailly enjoy riding about town because i don't have to shift much. Unless i exceed 70mph, I don't get out of 4th gear. (I HATE the 1st->4th operation, it sometimes gets in my way)

Granted, my roof DID fly off when I first got the car, and granted the stock tires provide no grip on the Z06, but the Z06 is overall a more friendly car to drive daily. Whereas my EVO, seems to VERY bi-polar. In other words the car is predictable, performance is either FULL on, or FULL off.

Unfortunately I will be trading my EVO and Z06 in for a GTR, but that gives me nearly a year and a half before that day comes. In case your wondering, first year products generally have the most problems. I remember the differences in quality from my 2003 350z to my 2004 350z, it was amazing.

To make a long story short, my 2003 Z had the feathering problem, tranny problem, went throught THREE sets of seats, TWO rear ends with hubs, the list goes on.I traded with 47k for an identical 2004 350Z. My 2004 350z, during its 17k life with me, NEVER went into for warranty work! I don't trust Nissan products for the first year of their production life. Second year, maybe, for the GTR however, I just can't wait long enough to tramp some 911 Turbo owners. The look on their face when the word NISSAN disappears in front of them is going to be priceless.

my 2006 Z06 bests 11mpg in the city, and sometimes over 27mpg on the highway.

a full tank of gas will last less then 190 miles in the city with normal driving.

mostly i range in the 9-11 mpg when i look at the instant mpg.

What color did you get? BTW sweet deal you got there!

Now when you get 500 miles on it do a halltech Killer Bee intake and a dyno tune at a shop that uses HP tuner. You will be amazed at what those two little mods will do....about 38whp gain! A guy on the Corvete fourms just ran a 10:83 @ 130mph with just those 2 mods and some DR's!! After that port the TB and INT 160stat and be at 500whp. Cam and headers ( whicn I'm doing now on mine and you'll be at between 560- 600whp depending on what cam you go with! PM me if you like if your in Pittsburg your not to far from some good shops that can take care of you...make a great car even better!!

I love my Evo but they are two very different cars! both great performance cars for the $$'s and shouldn't even be compared.

Good luck
Im pretty sure that they're is a guy who ran a high 10 with nothing but drag radials. completely bone stock 06 z06. let me know if i am wrong, however.

Your correct that would be Ranger and Jamie. Here are their two best times on Bone stock Z06 with no mods only Dr's.

1--10.831 @ 130.05--1.70---jamie furman ------'06.
2--10.856 @ 129.50--1.67---Ranger------'06.

Good luck and enjoy the car.....by the way you should join the Corvettefourms and introduce yourself.

Have you gotten a Dyno tune and a aftermarket Intake on that car cause I'm getting way better mpg in the city than you are. Your Highway mileage seems right in line with what I'm getting though.

BTW are you on a list for the GT-R with a deposit? I hope so! Have you seen some of the over MSRP prices that the Stealerships are starting to ask? I saw one dealer is asking $120,000.00 for a GT-R. I think that he saw online that 60 people have already paid that price over in Hong Kong in the first 2 weeks!!

I'm glad I've got a signed "Notorized agreement" with my dealer which I have had for over a year now.

I'm very lucky that I don't have to give up my Z06 for the GT-R...that would be a VERY hard choice for me.

Good luck

BTW this post should be moved to the " OTHER CAR " Section to not take away form the Evo X section JMO.
