EVO 10 or 2008 z06?
If you can afford the Corvette, get it. The MR should be around 37k before taxes, etc. You also have to think about insurance. I'm willing to bet the insurance is way higher on the Corvette. Also, 2 seats or 5 seats, that's another question you need to ask yourself. I would choose the Evo myself. I actually see more Corvettes on the road here than Evos.
I stoped reading after the 3rd page and I wont be reading after this post. Here is what I think.
EVO X's + Got more room, all weather, fun factor of driving a super AWD car.
EVO X's - Gas guzler, cheap interior, it's a Mitsubishi.
Z06's + Avoids gas guzler taxes ( yea you heard right, 7.0 V8 and not a gas guzler), thrill of a supercar's RWD powerhouse, better cuality and server from Chevy for purchasing one of their top of the line vehicles.
Z06's - limited to weather, limited space, higher insurance, driving in a featherweight, you crash you die, period.
Now, for what really counts in my book. You drive a Z06 around a populated road. People will definately break neck to see who'se driving. After they get that out of their system, their most common reaction is. "There goes another rich mid-life crisis victim of a man." If you driive around in a Evo, people will also break neck. Fewer people know what a Evo is and for all they know it's just a pretty lancer. So, most common opinion will be. "This dude really put his heart into this car, just look at it! Beautiful lancer!" If they see you hitting those turns at unreal speeds, your "cool" meter will just sky rocket. Though, if they see you do it in a Z06 they'll just think you're a little too old to be doing that in the streets. Not that a Z06 can strike a turn anywhere near as fast as a Evo can.
All in all. It all comes down to the same thing as always. You want a drag racing powerhouse or a bottle rocket that rips appart any and all corners.
My answer is simple. I like the security of a AWD car, I like being in a sport car, and I need room to fit my family, and I like supporting the underdog. European sedans that compete with evo got too much luxury for me. I'm a simple man, I just like to drive. I think Mitsu is going out on a limb for re-modeling their best car and I feel they did a good job and I want to support them. Subaru did also but, Subaru never seems to impress me. Especially with their ugly models for the STI.
Z06 is simply a completely different type of car. It's actually the exact opposite of an EVO. Just comes down to you preference and your need.

I own a twin turbo Cobra and a moton slammed twin turbo Viper, lex, hummer yada yada
I just picked an evo x because of the awd and I needed a 4door. let me tell you its a great car for every day and a total blast to drive. (even stock)

Yes, I now know this, I was corrected on this earlier. I just figured that since it is a more expensive car & would cost more to replace/fix it, it would cost more. But, I guess since many older people are the ones that can afford these & usually baby them & don't crash them, the insurance premium would decrease. This was my reasoning, which I guess was faulted, but also makes sense, it's just not the reality that I learned to be true.
And then I read this...

You did have some good points, but it was hard to see past all the BS to get there
.
I had the same problem. I got the Evo X GSR. Not sure if I did the right thing though.
Not going to bother arguing the pros and cons here......they aren't the same car. I picked the Evo over the Vette because everyone has a Vette. Also, I have kids, dogs, etc...and even though this is the "3rd car" in the garage, behind two big SUV's, I sometimes find myself with 2 or 3 kids to tote.

Going from a GTO to an X was really a change for me. I loved the pull of my GTO, and not having to rev high prior to launching just to get my car out of traffic quickly. However, this car turns on command, and it's a hell of a lot roomier. My insurance is way more expensive (300 a month as appose to 160) and that's before my insurance has even settled my crash.
The z06 is somewhat of a dreamcar to me, as it's not practical at all. It gets way better highway mileage, but about the same city mileage. Honestly, if I had the choice, I'd get a z06 seeing as I know a whole lot more about any LSx than I do a 4g63 or 4b11 or even the 6g in my stealth!
I guess I just miss my V8. Either way you look at it, you're going to be facing drawbacks. I know that in my GTO, I didn't have to worry about being spotted at PIR racing and losing my warranty as I know an Evo IX owner here has.
Either way, good luck to you!
