Horrible, Absolutely Horrible
If you can get a G37 for 10K under MSRP, then you should get it!! Maybe they are not as hot were you are, but the infinity dealers here cant keep them in stock.
And i have never been denied a test drive either. I already had a good relationship with my dealer via emails when they got their Evos in, and they asked me if i wanted a test drive. At the time i had no downpayment and was on no waiting list.

What does what i currently drive myself have to do with anything? A 5.0 mustang, a classic camaro? those are just mine... the parents have their own cars. You show me someone who is 20 and owns 3 cars. keyword, OWNS.
Another thing is, when i bought my GTS, it was fully equipped, $24k. We got the car delivered to us FROM the ship in tampa to ft lauderdale to my door on a flat bed, and never signed a single thing and had 5 days to return it if we didnt want it. Thats the kind of service we get from Coconut Creek King Auto Mall. Honestly this post was to get input on others experiences with dealers with this evo and an honest comparison from someone who has already driven the G37 and GSR
Haha, my mom takes no **** from anyone, she put the dodge sales manager in his place afterwards, thats why i brought her along. Plus if i get something she likes, she will pay for some of it. win win situation.
Aye that was a thought when i went to look at the SRT-4 same price range. Anyhow, they got them yesterday and have more coming next week so you may want to check it out.
Well, I personally don't think that dealers hould let people drive the evo or sti unless it's a demo model or it's a used model. BMW will let you test drive their basic models, just as Mitsubshi will let you test drive a base Lancer all day long. Now, go over to BMW and ask to test drive a brand new M3, and they'll laugh in your face and say, "I don't think so." It's the same case with the EVO. It;s a high performance car that has a high potential for abuse by some punk that wants to redline it before it's even broken in. I have had my evo X on preorder since October, and if I found out that some kid took my car out and test drove it, I would get my deposit back and walk. My dealer shares my sentiment, and assures me that no one will be driving my car before I get it. He said that they don't usually let people test drive the evos unless they have started some paperwork and are showing definite signs of buying. That's the way it should be, and if you guys don't agree with that, then you are most likely not serious buyers. If you were, then you wouldn't want other people driving your car before you bought it. End of story.
I do agree with you Sti - I wouldn't want to buy a car that's been out on test drives. However if a dealership is going to do that, I think it should be mandatory that they have a "test drive" car that's used only for test drives.
Why anyone would buy a car that they haven't test drove is beyond me.

I drove the G37 out of it's spot in their parking garage and parked it right back in there, they have atleast 30 of them in stock and not going anywhere.

seriously though. the evo x is a "hot" car as is the srt-4. who'd want a young guy test driving them days after i just got them in. you walk in there with your mom and you expect the guy to think you're a serious buyer? why waste the man's time and berate him because he saw through you and knew you are not fully intent on buying?
we must all remember this is a brand new car. if this story was told 1-2 years after it comes out then it'd be a story to cry about. the circumstances make perfect sense to most who read it.
PS: anybody can own a car or 3, no matter how young. it's how many cars you have after you've paid for your own home that matters. still living with mom negates every car you own even if it's a pur sang veyron...unless your mom is angelina jolie
if you've paid for a car or placed a deposite, then you bought a car. If they give you a car they let someone drive, then you are not getting what you paid for. But, if no one has bought the car, then its fair game. If its a "waiting list" no one put money down, no one owns a car thats comin on that truck.
If you go into a dealer that only has 1 or 2 of a car, you'd honestly expect that someone hasnt test drove it? thats pure ignorance, even if i put a deposite down months ago, id want to go and test drive it and if i didnt like it i would say screw this car it sucks. And what are they gonna do with it? just sell it to the next person.
Honestly i think its stupid to put money down on a car with such huge speculation and be able to say "im going to definitely buy this car without driving it" GL with that. If you have the money to throw away on multiple cars before you find the one you like, more power to ya.

Every dealer is different. Some are very serious about keeping miles off these cars, some say they will no test drive, but when you make it clear you are serious, they do. And then some have no problem. Take into account that this is a car that a lot of people will want to drive with no intention of ever buying. The way to deal with it is to be calm, rational, and explain you are very serious about the car, but cannot purchase it without knowing how it drives. Even Southcoast is not keen on test drives.

dang take it to the heart huh
