why dont they provide the kits for free under warranty

 

I just called my dealer about part ALN08YXX02 and he said it was $160.00!! . He was doing some research on it, but did say this part number combined 4 other part numbers, so it is a 4 piece kit. I think that is for each side, but not sure because he had to do more checking and they were totally clueless. Thanks to DREW for the number or it would have been looking for a needle in a haystack with my dealer. For that price, I think I can just go to a professional installation place and have them custom make them and cover the exact area I want.

I agree, they should supply this as a warranty item for anyone who complains or has signs of damage.

Also, any updates from anyone with the aero kit? Has it been determined that the aero side skirts prevent this issue?

 

I called and got some more detail. Part ALE08YXX01 is a 6 piece kit, 3 per side. $120.00. Install is $100.00. Talked to the service manager and he said NO WAY to add that under warranty. He said they are considering the tape an accessory item (IE optional)!

 

Should come with the kit from the factory since it's thier design that is the problem.

Yeah I called my PDC today, Technically the kits do not exist right now. When you order that part number it tells the Parts warehouse to box up all the the clear tap together. Eventually they will automatically come together. If that makes any sense. But the $160.00 is BS, the true list accessory price is $119.95 and whatever applicable sales tax your state has. I can believe the $100 to install it. Its pretty going to be pretty tricky unless you are familiar with doing vinyl decals. I ordered mine today I will have it tomorrow I will take pictures to show every one what the kit looks like.

+1, I figure for $100 better for the dealer to screw it up and need to get more than me to do it and need to pay another 30-40 bucks for the piece I ruin on a learning curve.

^+1 I have apex silver and you can only see it up close. PB and OB, I would imagine, would be the worst because they're so dark.

 

I used to think those marks on my hood were bug guts, until I tried to wash them off. That's when I realized the marks didn't stick up from the paint. They're gouged out of the paint.

I know they're from bugs, though. I don't ride behind dump trucks and I don't drive any faster than anyone else. So, my paint is chipped down to the metal from hitting bugs at 70mph.

So, Mitsubishi won't honor the warranty AND we have cheapo paint? Great. It's a good thing there's a lot to like about my X, because the things that suck really suck.

trexx any word?....its honestly looking like i might just fold get my paint fixed and buy myself the aero kit :/ talk about $$$$$...mitsu should at the very least hook us up with the aero kit to make things right

 

The attorney says take it to the dealer and have them repair it. If they refuse get it on paper. Do it three times then he can do something. Thats as far as the lemon law side goes. As far as class action, he said to get 20 people to make it worth it.
