There are times when you have to bring the car in twice to get it right..
Besides those issues, Mitsubishi Union in downtown LA broke my rear view mirror. Not only they decided to keep it down, the manager was so rude when I confronted him with my mirror damage. He said my parts were defect?? I mean what has a simple oil change got to do with my rear view mirror? Besides, shouldn't they have the basic courtesy to at least inform me about the break?
Miller Mitsubishi in Van Nuys didn't put back my undertray after doing oil change. (besides that one incident, they are really great)

Sheesh, too much gloom and doom.
Not true. The industry was down only 9% overall which was primarily driven by Chevy, Ford and Chrysler having HORRIBLE sales for trucks and SUVs (e.g., Ford SUVs were down a whopping 36%...ouch). Mitsu was 3 times as bad as the industry, so you can't really hide when you're doing that bad...and when others are actually doing well. Mazda was up nearly 13%. Subaru was up 21.7%. In fact, every automotive brand was either flat or up accept GM, Ford, Chrysler, Isuzu and Mitsu. Mitsu was the worst of ANY automotive brand.

This is right for the most part. April was somewhat odd. SUV and truck sales fell drastically in April for some auto manufacturers (Chevy and Ford for example). But, some other brands had sales increases for their trucks and SUVs (Mazda, Hyundai are examples). Big SUVs and big Trucks definitely struggled.

But, overall the poor economy and poor gas prices don't explain why Mitsu struggled so much.

They have been running commercials like crazy for the last year.

Super Bowl featuring the new Genesis for instance.

They also had a ton of different commercials comparing their vehicles to vehicles twice or three times as much... Audi was even copying their marketing strategy.

Hyundai Azera vs Mercedes S class
Hyundai Azera vs Lexus LS460 "for 30k less, you can afford to pay somebody to park the car for you"

Sounds like you need to find another dealer. Ask for their triple diamond certified tech and make nice with them. The dealer CAN be your friend.

I have to be completely honest, Mitsu cars are NOT appealing. Most are ugly, known to have horrible service, and sketchy on warranty work. Plus, they're asking through the roof for some X's (close to 40k, some at 40k), which people are having a hard time to embrace (new bodystyle, motor). Honestly for that price point I WOULD NOT be driving a mitsu, my business would be at Bimmer, Lexus, even Caddy (new CTS is ridiculous). Just my .02.

that isnt true either. my sister took her outlander to get an oil change and the head mechanic who is of course certified and worked there for like 10 years forgets to put her oil filler cap back on and you can just guess what happens after that... at least they reinbursed her money no questions asked...she also had a problem when she first went to mitsubishi for an oil change....then forgot to put the oil gasket on the drain plug and it was leaking oil all over the driveway...thank god for a cement driveway who knows what would of happenned if we didnt notice it. so to sum it up if mitsubishi didnt have the evo, i would even look to buy a car there.

Personally, I've seen a lot of the new lancer's on the street. I think they are a real step up from the old ones. I think they are competitive. Evo IX->X is another tired old argument. What I own tells you what I think about that.

As for Mitsu service.... I got an oil change, and a complementary scratch(they "washed" it). Needless to say, I watched them repair it to my satisfaction and I've never been back. I take it to a different dealer, who has been good to me so far.

I personally will never buy a mitsu except for the evo cause its a great car. Their service sucks, warranty sucks (talking about stock cars, modded is expected), theyre all the rudest people ive had to deal with but most of all their overall quality just sucks.

You can get other cars for the same money and the over all quality is going to be 10x better. 38k on my evo and it looked 10 years old outside from all the rock chips and overall crappiness. The interior was showing age pretty fast as well, i understand its no BMW but come on....

For the most part they make great cars, its just the rest theyre lacking...

Cheers!

I have BAD news for Mitsu... their sales are only going to get worse.

When gas is $10 a gallon... the least of my worries is going to be: which badass 20MPG car can i buy?

It will then be: which badass electric car can i buy.

EDIT: that is really shocking that only 364 evos were sold in the entire usa in april ( for a brand spankin new car we have all been waiting for) , i had no idea volume on the evo was so slow.

I guess that does explain the 5-6 evos on my local dealers lot, very lonely, looking for a home.

First off a dealership is a dealership! I've had crap service from every make and model, Mitsubishi has always backed their warranty on my CARS! They produce reliable cars and manufacture great looking rides, from the triton to the Evo and Galant to Endeavor. I'm so tired of these lame threads, the whole "I liked the 9 better than the X"! MOVE ON, join the Mustang crowd so you can talk about how the 09 looks like the 67... Mitsubishi moved forward when all you X hating 9 guys wanna linger in the past.

You're like the media, hyping EVERYTHING and spreading rumors like brian cancer!!! WOW they only sold 324 EVO's this month, the economy is shot and gas is pushing 4 bucks a gallon, that's totally a shocker! How can people afford Evo's when most are making minimum wage or collecting unemployment?

Take your hatred and falsifications else where, better yet find yourself a new place to moan the blues about how Mitsubishi does this and that wrong. Evo's have always been rare, it's not like a civic si or WV jetta...

P.S. Not to mention the GTS, Outlander, EVO and Endeavor all hold their own against the competition.

Car manufacturers are having a difficult time moving vehicles right now. Honda took a 32.5% hit for their fiscal year ending March 31, 2008. Mitsubishi is no exception.
