Reflash #2 Out!! Just went to the dealer

I read about a reflash on evoxforums.com, so i went to my dealer just now, and they scheduled me for the reflash. I dont know all the specifics, but from what i could quickly read on the computer screen, it was a "revision" to the april reflash.

Just thought id get the word out!
Woo!

Yeah, I heard about that from evoxforums as well. Anyone else talk to their dealership about this new revision?

Hmm. Since its a "revision" wonder if they'll still do the "No CEL, no luck" garbage.

Affirmative. One of the members of EvoXForums posted it up:

The correct TSB is TSB 08-13-011

Technical Service Bulletin
SUBJECT:
ENGINE CONTROL MODULE REPROGRAMMING
FOR SLIGHT HESITATION ABOVE 5,000 RPM
No: TSB 08-13-011
DATE: May, 2008
MODEL: 2008 Lancer Evolution
CIRCULATE TO: [ ] GENERAL MANAGER [X] PARTS MANAGER [X] TECHNICIAN
[X] SERVICE ADVISOR [X] SERVICE MANAGER [X] WARRANTY PROCESSOR [ ] SALES MANAGER
PURPOSE
Customers of some affected vehicles may experience a slight hesitation when accelerating at engine
speeds above 5,000 RPM. The condition is due to the air fuel mixture becoming too rich during higher
engine speed.
This Technical Service Bulletin advises the steps to reprogram the ECM with new software which will cor‐
rect the air/fuel ratio during certain operating parameters.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
2008 Lancer Evolution equipped with 5 speed manual transmission only built prior to April 10, 2008.

I'm very new to the forum and Mitsubishi in general, I purchased an Evo X last week and came across this thread.

How do I know if this reflash applies to my car, I've had none of the symtoms listed and my vin ends in 0017.

If anything, it looks as if it would be worth in for improved fuel economy.

tempting.... but it makes you ask why mitsubishi gave us rich running evos. Are we looking a gift horse in the mouth since it may be helpful with mods or is a custom reflash gonna make all of that irrelevant?

Maybe they are trying to keep egts down and running rich is a bandaid solution.. Just wanted to try to figure out why it was released the way it is to determine the best course of action. Me personally...I want about 350 hp since I think the 291 hp is a touch low.
