Small improvement on fuel economy

I drove 80 miles yesterday with the cruise on 72 got 27.0 MPG about 1 MGP more than before, at 62 MPH it looks like I'm seeing 1 mpg more, so the flash helps mpg a little.

After the first flash, my car still had the idle problem. Anyone who had the 2nd flash know if it fixed this problem?

27.O MPG!!! From factory ECU? do you live on a billard table? I would be happy with 25MPG on the highway.

Just got it, definitely helped the upper RPM range out. The boost still tapers to 15psi or so but the car still pulls.

Before i wouldnt even go to 5k+ RPM as the power fall off was so dramatic and annoying, now it's not nearly as bad.

15 psi is higher than 13psi which is what mine does now before flash... going today

Well, I just got mine done today and I'm really surprised. The car pulls a little harder to redline than before, but the biggest difference is the fact that the car doesn't have the bog when first stomping on the gas after shifting. It's much smoother and definitely picked up a bit of power, but it's still nothing compared to an ecutek flash, make no mistake people.

I'd say that this car should be in the low 13s now, but there aint no way in hell that it's in the 12s, not with the 10 hp that it might have picked up from this... no way. Either way it's definitely worth getting if you can't afford the ecutek yet or don't want to moddify your car. Free horsepower from the dealer is always a nice thing. BTW, bring the TSB # with you to help make sure that the dealer does the correct flash for you. Better safe than sorry.

No no billiard table here, but it wasn't too hilly either, not North Dakota flat..just gentle rolling hills. But in town its hilly like San Francisco and I can get 18 about in town. I have to baby it too, most of the time 12-14 is more like it. Too many steep hills to climb here in town. Average freeway driving I'm quite pleased I think the worst I've seen is about 23.6 going 75 a bit of wind too.

The flash didn't change much at all that I can tell, seems to idle better haven't noticed an confusion anymore. I'm going to call somebody at Mits and see if they might listen and lean it out a bit more than they did. Not holding my breath on that one.

^Yeah good luck on that one. If you want it leaner and want more power than just ge the car ecutek tuned and be done with it. Of course that's 750 bucks and the dealer flashes are free, so I know where you are coming from but free horsepower from the dealer will be in very small amounts. If you want power you gotta pay for it, even if the ecutek tune gives the car the power that it should've had out of the box.

I had mine done today as well and it is running a bit smoother overall and pulling stronger through the rev range. I'm happy with it .

Another update. No offense people but this is embarrassing. Does Mitsubishi even know their own cars? you know...the freaking cars they have built themselves. I feel like I am updating a windows software every month in order to prevent blue screens here or something. Fawk this, either Mitsu calls me to offer me this reflash or I am just waiting till I save up some $$$ and get the AMS to tune my car. Seems like after market engineers > Mitsu engineers...really pathetic and there is no excuse for this. I have no time out of my busy schedule to drive to dealers weekly for re-flashes. Gimme a break.

"Oh look, the car bogs and runs like crap....meh...release it and we will patch it later"

wtf

Would you have wrote this post if no reflashes had been available???.....I'm not so sure...

It might not be the best case scenario, but hey, at least they are doing something about it. They are hearing us, and that is a GOOD thing!!!
