It might not be the best case scenario, but hey, at least they are doing something about it. They are hearing us, and that is a GOOD thing!!!
Yeah if only the dealers would be notified of the reflashes..

And than those dealers notified us. Instead we have to find out on a website. There is probably twice as many EVO X owners that do not visit internet evo fan sites as there is those who do.

Actually the only price I should pay is the 35k. That is no excuse for people who have been making cars for years now. I can't believe that they can't produce a car with proper air/fuel ratios the first time around.

I totally agree with you...and now I foresee an argument on how "all new cars aren't right at first!"

But anyway, seriously, problems that came with previous generations shouldn't carry over to the next, imo. I mean seriously, I'm not a car manufacturer, and I'm not exactly sure how difficult it may be to build a car, but...I'm pretty sure if I was, and knew how, yeah, sure, there will be problems at first, but I'm sure as hell I can get those problems straight the next time around. Or come on, at least my BRAKE HANDLE COVER! Tell me Mitsubishi couldn't perfect that years ago?

Well, alright, totally off-topic.

I can't wait for the semi-long drive to get the reflash!

The brake handle cover is installed at the port not the factory. The low wage earner at the port is in a hurry so they can go home and does a half-*** job. I have the aero kit and the handle but both were installed at the dealer and I have had no problem.

as to the reflash...I am glad they are trying to correct the problem instead of covering it up.

According to someone at the dealership, it is an additional 11hp and 0tq. He mentioned that one of the customers went immediately to the dyno right after getting the flash done.

Mitsubishi's still to blame in my opinion...regardless of who installed it and where it was installed. If I have a problem with it, I'll bring it to Mitsubishi...not the port.

Im having problems with the dealer also. Left a message with the GM cause service department treated me like I was stupid and had no idea what I was talking about. I even gave them a TSB number lol.. I will eventually have custom tune, but before then I want all I can get.

gotta agree with everybody here about we should be informed rather reading it on a website or someplace else. if i had not read it here i would not have known there was a reflash available. i had to call the dealership and ask about it and they did confirm that there was a reflash available.

i just got it. and the surprising thing is that the tech told me to put a cold air intake and a full exhaust. He straight up told me and the guy that schedules the service that after market intake and exhaust doesnt void the warranty. I thought i was dreaming! but no! thanks shaffer mitsubishi . if you're in my area and looking for an evo they have one in their showroom.

p.s.
this is not where i got my evo!

I just got the reflash and Im pretty impressed. I dont think it made way more power but I red lined it in the first 4 gears at diiferent levels of acceleration. It actually feels like it picks up more power after 4500 to redline instead of cutting out. It was completely smooth acceleration through all the gears to redline. I did run it out in 5th once and completely smooth to top there to.. I ran it a couple times with stock filter and couple times with HKS filter and it did still feel smoother with the HKS one. I cant tell power difference between filters, but HKS felt alot smoother plus it sounds better IMO. I would say this is a must have if you havent gotten a good tune yet, especially if u go to track days the car runs much, much, much smoother. I dont think there is really a big power gain other than it runs from 3k to redline now instead 3k to 5k. I would love to see a dyno of the flash to see if it truely does get ride of the W shape in the curve. My butt says it gets rid od most of it.

I did have to call the GM yesturday though to get their service in gear so I could get the flash though. The mechanics knew all about the flash, but when you call you just talk to the guys at the desk and they didnt know their *** from a hole in the ground. I apologize in advance for last comment if I get in trouble for saying ***

I just talked to the dealer and they said that they have to replicate the problem in order to do the reflash for me. They also said that it can hurt the car if it doens't have that problem? Do you think that is true? My car doesn't seem to be having that problem but I figure the newest reflash can never hurt? What are you guy's opinions on this?
