Evo X vs STi on next week's Top Gear
the show itself is more for entertainment rather than serious car reviews.
the x has been known to be easier to drive (than the sti) after the initial feeling wears, which im sure the stig was able to handle.
on a different track im sure the mr would have been faster.
the stig does multiple runs in each car and they take the best lap time.
haha clarkson would prefer the most rwd-like evo.
launching capabilities are an inherent characteristic of any car.
and the sti guys will have a field day over this one, especially since most magazines have tested the MR to be faster than the gsr.

...quote the man with the poofy black vest... "I Know the entry speed in this corner with a Ferrari or a Lamborghini is 65... I just did it at 110!!!"
That is freaking awesome! This video was so empowering! I almost feel bad for any ****** that bought an STI! LOL!!!

already said it this and seems to not sink in....the STi gets at least .7 sec to 60 at the launch.....the MR MAKES UP GROUND the rest of the way.
Bottom line, unless you are doing a drag race then you want the MR. If starting from a standing start maybe think of the MT instead of the SST.
After watching the video, there is no way I would buy a STI and i actually like hatches.

Just have to see if MR can handle extra power over lots of miles. M/T much cheaper than to replace than SST. 1k for new clutch ok, I dont even know what a new SST would cost.
Just because you can enter at 110 doesn't mean it is any faster than the other cars. He's power sliding and losing speed while cornering. If he was really going for a fast lap, he wouldn't be entering at 110.
The MR is around .6 to .8 sec slower to 60 than the STi and to the 1/4....that means the MR MADE up close to a second in actual track running.
All this means is that if they were doing F1 starts they need to rethink the clutch...nascar/IRL starts...or races more than a lap long, you want the EVO X.

It was strange to see the STI come out on top. But it could also be the gearing in both the STI and SST GSR. Every little thing counts as well. I believe the STI is a tad bit lighter in Europe and japan because of the 2.0L engine instead of our 2.5L. I could be wrong but these are just some facts that can make or break a difference. It will be interesting once fifth gear gets their hands on these 2 car.
