If TopGear actually tested it with the 5-speed, I'm sure they would have gotten a better time.
Yea I heard about that too. Also in the mitsubishi tech videos it says if you ride the SST for a long period of time it tends to overhead and get real sludgy

I consider this a fluke. Let them have their .02 sec. They're having a field day over there at iwsti.com. That .02 sec faster accordingly dropped the evo in status to "a piece of ****" and "not worth the money." However if you wanna be magazine racer, I have a Road and Track article that has the Evo a full 2 seconds faster around Willow Springs. The MR I believe was 3 seconds faster. Now thats an *** spanking. So let them bask in the sun of their fraction of a fart time difference. Because 90% of people who drive the car know which is the clear choice. I love my X!

Full conversion. I love it!

Those guys are lucky that FQ didn't get to play on track.

Ya I have become a complete blasphemer. I was a two time STi owner! I'm not one of those "I own this car now, I'm gonna bash any previous car owned" type of person. However, I did not own an 08 STi, so I will share my feelings toward it. Love the previous versions, not much bad to say about them. But this new STi...ughhh, such a disappointment.

How long has stig driven the car? Is it reflashed #1 or #2 or is it running rich? could be bogging on stig.

I have to say though that while I didn't hate the show I didn't like it as much the 8 vs 03 STI movie. It was more about just showing off the awesomeness of both cars and showing them on great roads with great music, but this was just the bashing of the STI pretty much for 15 minutes with an ending of a driver who doesn't know how to drive the X. He mentioned so little about the looks of the X even.
It's funny to see how so many people here think they're schumacher, and that extra feature the car has will compensate for their lack of skills. I bet none of us here has the amount of skills equal to the stig's left pinky, no matter who or what he is. I'm sure he knows what he's doing, and doesn't need any advice from us. I can imagine you trying to school him, and that look on his face inside his helmet. lol

In the past generations, to my knowledge, the stis have had more understeer than evos. Big deal. Nothing new here. I don't understand why people are whining and moaning like little girls about hundredths of a second difference. It shows that the cars are very close, and comes down to the driver. I believe there's a best motoring video where the new sti owned the new evox at the track. Forgot which one.

I found the episode very entertaining. It was great seeing both new models going at it.

just because stig is a racecar driver doesn't mean that the average joe can't beat him. If you were in my shoes and seen some of the **** that Love9sick and I have raced you would think that some of the stories were made up.

As for the STI and EVO X let just say that they are both better in some ways more than others. As for whoever said something about Road and Track I will never believe that magazine after seeing that a 200X Nissan Sentra Spec V was about 2 seconds faster than my Base RSX putting it in the RSX-S sights and then running with one on the highway with mods and having it right along side my RSX with just an intake. Then a different one about 2 months later on the street totally stock and handing his *** to him!

Top speed pulls on the highway don't count for much. Stig would dominate you.

My all-time favorite Top Gear Evo vs. STI video. FQ-320. Effing quick, indeed. 126.0.

I watched this video umpteen times before I got mine.

The Evo X is a porker. Handles brilliantly, though. Holds a very clean line. Impressive.

More important than numbers is the fun quotient. How fun is the car to drive? Jeremy exuberantly answered the X.

I finally got around to test driving a X GSR. Love my IX RS sooooo much more. Not only inherently quicker, but more exciting, as well.

Pick your poison. Just be happy with your car.

Awesome vid', though. Hilarious in spots.

Looks like a fun car. I wonder the MR is that much faster due to the SST and i'm curious how that tranny hold up to mods?

in my opinion the new sti is definitely not in the same class as the evo x...08 sti needs to go play with its real competitors....i.e golf gti....anyone who thinks the new sti is faster round any track than the 10(stock) is drunk. FTW.
