No way. The EVO has always been a low volume 'image' car. You need a car like that to get people into the showrooms. It's not like STI's sell any better for Subaru as it's the regular WRX that sells which is most likely what Mitsubishi hopes to duplicate with the Ralliart.

I would agree, but it would seem the ralliart pricing fails. The lots here have them at 30k, little more than I would want to pay for that, mind as well buy an evo x.

Agreed, the camaro died after like 30 some years or whatever, even though they are bringing it back. If they dont break even on a car or come very very close, it will go. Which makes me happy because then my car will be worth even more

Why would you discontinue a car that is already developed.
You have to sell them to recoup those costs.

Do you own a mitsu dealership by any chance?

Quick quick, buy an 08, they are going to discontinue them!
If dealers were more willing to deal, they would sell more.

And to think the same stock dealers were trying to markup is now still sitting on their lots....

Exactly. They have spent a fair bit of cash on developement of the AWD system, 4B11T, TC-SST, etc. They aren't going to flush it all down the toilet because the US is nearing a recession plus the car is a world-wide market car (not a NA car like the Camaro) that's been selling in other markets since the early 90's. Now that they have brought it to the US why stop selling it here?

Ive heard rumors that 2010 Evo X model will be the last Evo and it will be replaced by the eclipse awd that supposedly mitsu is bringing back

If they cleaned up the back end and kept the weight down, I would consider a modern gsx

Hmm that would be a good sales tactic for the dealers to use. I doubt Mitsu would let Subaru have a monopoly on the "turbo AWD rally" market again. They were already late to the party, I'm sure they won't leave early. With no Evo in the market, there would be more STi sales for sure. I mean, as much as they could turbo and AWD the eclipse, it's still no Evo... Plus, I definitely couldn't see people passing up a BMW for an Eclipse.

The base 2 liter lancer is selling ok because it's a good looking economy model so why would the evo go away so soon? The factory in Japan is still gonna be stamping out lancer parts. All the engineering and production line has been paid for on the evo...maybe they will only make 1000 a year for the US, but there are still about 100 other countries with people who make enough money to buy cars.

The base n/a 2 liter lancer is selling pretty good, I've seen quite a few out here in SoCal.

The Eclipe really needs a new design overhaul, because the current model looks tacky and nasty.

they need to do sumthin for the 2010 or 2009 evo with the new wrx jumpin 42 horsepower doin 0-60 in just 5.5 sec and a price tag of only 24,000 y even buy a ralliart for 27,000 that really is limited due to its transmission. plus that wrx isant too far behind the evo mr which is overpriced in my opinion for 38,000. that 09 wrx is a bargain, with this being said imagine wat subaru has in stored for the 2009 sti. subaru fans got alot to look forward to
