2009 Evo X release date?
I am still trying to figure out if there is any relevance to this issue, unless there are solid changes from the 08 to the 09 Evo X then it is in my opinion irrelevant.
The interestet should be focused more into the upcoming Ralliart.

I test drove an Evo X over the weekend at the Park Ridge, IL Mitsu dealer and I was talking to them about that. They told me they predict that they may come out with different wheels and changes to the powertrain. I'm guessing they will probably be released around the same time as last year.
My personal prediction is that they may also have features like leather interior or sunroof?? Maybe...
By the way Park Ridge, IL mitsu dealer was really great to work with. I've been to many around Illinois and they are hands down the best. Also they were the first ones to admit the mitsu paint is garbage to me haha!

Although chances are even if they do upgrade the wheels to something more aesthically pleasing, most people will swap them out for aftermarket ones anyways.
The Ralliart isn't shaping up too well from what I've heard. I believe it was Road and Track who got a chance to track it, and they absolutely trashed it. And if the price is going to be right under 30k, i wouldn't see any reason to tread that ground...

Hmmm I did not read it that way. they said it was not as fast as the EVO...no suprise there...Trashed? not sure about that.
The R&T article just talked about the lack of grip compared to the Evo. It gets narrower tires to fit in the un-widened standard Lancer body.
Shoehorn some bigger tires in there, maybe some suspension pieces (it gets the GTS suspension) and it's well on it's way to near-Evo status. Of the few articles I've read on it, the only criticism was the Lancer-like handling. Mitsubishi's not completely stupid. Selling a car that's 95% Evo for $6k less would have angered a lot of Evo owners... they had to cripple it a little bit somehow.
The estimated MSRP is $28k, which seems reasonable to me given the competition.

If you look at the Australian Mitsubish web site, the specs are announced for the 3 trims of the upcoming EVO 10. Yes.. 3
Evolution MT (5 spd)
Evolution TC-SST
Evo MR SST
they don't call it a GSR , but they are getting that in both transmission flavors.
My guess is, that since they'll be making them in Japan to these specs anyhow, that the sst box might become an individual option on the GSR.

In Japan, there's no such thing as an EVO X MR yet. The GSR had two transmission options, the 5 speed or the SST.
Dunno why they didn't do the same thing here in the US. Instead, we get a fake MR (which is basically just the Japanese GSR w/ SST + some mitsu options - the BBS forged wheels, 2-piece front rotors, and the body kit).
The Japanese MR when it comes out should be unique, and will definitely not be a GSR in MR badging.

Oh yeah...
6sp tranny
BBS rims
Bilsteins
Vortex generator
Aluminum roof
Gauge pack
And the difference between the X GSR and MR?
6sp tranny
BBS rims
Bilsteins
2 pc rotors
Leather
Blue tooth
Chrome trim / body coloured hood and side vents
Seems pretty the differentiators between the IX and X MR to GSR are very similiar. I guess for 3 generations the US has been getting "fake" MRs...
