2009 Evo X release date?
There is no EVOX MR yet in Japan. When they do release it', I'm sure it ain't just gonna be a GSR w/ options. Wouldn't make sense to release a special Japanese MR version when it's just a Japanese GSR w/ options (2 piece rotors, bilstens, bbs, rims - the rest are not performance related).
The US did get a FAKE MR (IX) in the past, didn't even come with SAYC just like the other regions. It's nice that the GSR's in the US are in parity with their Japanese counterparts (aside from not offering the SST option in the US GSR).
I guess for 3 generations the US has been getting "fake" MRs...

My cousin works at the US headquarters in Cali, and he told me last night that they have been working on, and trying to get ready for the '09 model, a larger turnine housing, and larger compressor wheel turbo, and a dual plate clutch manual for the GSRs. I'll let you know when I hear more info.

"Mitsubishi told Inside Line that a five- or six-speed manual is in the works for the U.S.-market Ralliart in the States, although it could be expected to cost as much as the vehicle with the twin clutch with all the work necessary to reprogram and manipulate the vehicle."
6 speed manual.... if the rumors are true about a 6MT on the RA, why not the X?

Who says the 2nd year of the Evo X will be better. If I remember correctly the 03's and 04's of the Evo still have that dreaded P0300 problem. It's not until the 05's that they figured out the problem. My word of advice is.. You'll always make a bad decision if you make a hasty decision. I know you're itching to buy the Evo X but take your time to research before you put down that much money on a car that you still know nothing about. Things also don't always get better with time, some companies realize that a car is selling well so they following year they town down on the quality because they know it's going to sell anyway. Plastic pedals anyone?

Because reading around - I see stuff like this, and things like these were just posted last month.
The Lancer Evolution X MR is on the way, with a new fascia equipped with extra venting and a new air intake, while a revised rear wing, side skirts and blacked-out wheels complete the exterior makeover. Output is increased by 20 hp (in UK spec) to 305 hp and the mid-range has been tweaked to provide more low-end torque, dropping the 0-60 time to under five seconds. The paddle-shifted SST twin-clutch transmission transfers over from the GSR model (likely with some software revisions) and the body has been stiffened to maximize the MR's handling.

then ALL USDM EVO's are fake because none of them had SAYC which is standard on ALL trim levels of the EVO in other countries

Validity
Main article: Validity
Arguments may be either valid or invalid. If an argument is valid, and its premises are true, the conclusion must be true: a valid argument cannot have true premises and a false conclusion.

USDM EVO X MR is JDM EVOX GSR(SST) + OPTIONAL PACKAGES.
JDM EVOX MR IS not released yet
so
USDM EVO X MR is NOT JDM EVO X MR.
What's so hard to understand? Past releases tells us that JDM EVO X MR will have bits in it to make it unique from its JDM GSR counterparts (just like the EVO VIII MR was unique from the EVO VIII GSR models).
What I would like in an MR is a *STRONG* six speed w/ the first five gears designed towards racing, and the SIXTH gear simply being an overdrive gear. How about using the current 5 speed design (same gearing), then just add a sixth gear to it strictly for highway cruising - 4000 RPM @ 80 mph sucks.
People will welcome easily replaceable clutches, makes those high HP guys happy, saves gas in the highway..
