And the Evo is still the only car that Mitsubishi doesn't offer a financing option on...
Maybe a low APR would help sales a bit, maybe not...but I certainly don't see why this policy is in place to begin with.

I hope you're not talking about the $48,750 fully loaded Mitsubishi Evolution MR that I could equally purchase a 335i for the same price. I don't think that car will aid in sales in fact I think mitsubishi made a mistake by releasing it at the price they did.

I think my dealer has total between GSR and MR, 31 of them with most of them in the storage department. Everytime I go by there, they always try to get me to trade in my IX on the X. But they won't give me any kind of deal, so I keep telling them no and I also have hardly seen any on the road as well.

Im waiting for 0% financing to pull the trigger. I was looking at IX's until I saw that a new X could be had for only a few grand more. With 0% it would be a no brainer if you are like me and plan on making payments on it!

Saw my first evo x today.
But good as far as the sales go for those that have them already. Rare is generally a good thing in the car resale industry.

Got 1 MR and 2 or 3 GSRs at my dealer. We've sold 2 GSRs so far. I already put a clutch in 1 of them. I heard a commercial for mitsu today pushing the lancer.
The answer is lancer in 2008.

Gas is in the $4.40/gallon range here for 93 octane and in Mitsu's infinite wisdom they gave the Evo X about 3 MPG less compared to previous models. Sure it's a heavier car but damnit with a new engine that is supposed to include the latest technologies they really missed the boat on efficiency. I could see if they had only a slightly more fuel efficient engine and with the weight it became a wash but it's like they didn't even really try.
The local dealership has sold like 2 or so and I bought one of them... LOL. I got it for $500 over invoice and got a $500 mitsu loyalty rebate, but a special financing option would have gotten me to bite much sooner as there really wasn't anything wrong with my 3 year old Evo 8 besides it needing a clutch, brakes, tires, and timing belt within 15k miles. Trading in was actually saving me money, gotta love that! Although the effort to revert it to stock soaked up the better part of the weekend I tweaked the restricter in the stock boost lines to run 20-21 PSI to redline and left the MAS screw mostly turned out which made it scream for "stock" haha.
If anyone wants to get a EVO X at a really good price, I can't guarantee it will be as good as mine but I know the manager really well and he is willing to move them in quantities if I send him referals. Likely most dealerships will start dropping the going rate of retail only on these cars if sales continue to slump as much as they are now. I think he has a blue and black GSR in stock with Aero kit currently.
