How so? As someone already said pretty well every automobile magazine and online publication has picked the EVO over the STI. It's not fanboyism, it's reality. Sure the STI is a good car but it's not the best in class as has been proven almost unanimous by every major publication that the EVO is the better driver's car. You can talk all you want about how much cargo you can fit into you hatchback but that doesn't change the fact that hauling stuff around isn't the purpose of these vehicles. The fact that Subaru decided to make the new Impreza look like a poor man's Mazda 3 seals the deal about which car is the better car in its class.

Mitsubishi has not been without its own share of problems so I don't think that point is very applicable.
How would the evo "walk" the STI in the suspension sense? Again, the numbers are very close and when both cars are modified, they begin to perform very similarly.

well , he said when he will tune with cobb then his STi will be not bugging and faster then a factory EVo X, and will be fast enough for a street car. He also stated the same thing on the suspension and tires.
So there is a direct connection in the opposite way too specially when you start comparing the "fixed up" car vs factory.
Silly or not ,its true.
thanks for straight me out .

oh i got it, i just saw your car in your sign.

It's fanboyism because people only pick the magazine reviews that favor their side. They also nitpick about issues that are either A. not actually issues or B. applicable to their own side as well. Not too long ago AMS posted a review of the 07 STI where they essentially said it was just as good as the Evo. This of course caused an uproar as people dismissed their findings in favor of their own opinion even though they only had experience with one car (or in some cases, no car). A lot of reviews have said that while the Evo is a better performer on paper or at the track, they preferred the STI.

Yes I drive a Subaru because at the time, Mitsubishi had absolutely nothing to offer. It's also true that I love the evo and would trade my car in a heartbeat for an Evo 9 if I could afford it and if the car was actually easily available in Canada.

LOL @ BMW and STi owners. Evo FTW!

Someone once told me, if you're going to buy the BMW, at least get something 5 series. And the STi is just a turbo charged Mazda 6 if you ask me.

I just noticed the EvoM forums are moderated by BMW, Subaru and Jeep owners. Mitsubishi Enthusiast's Network huh? I wouldn't expect anything less than Fanboyism. Were on a Mitsubishi Enthusiast FORUM. I've read so many magazine articles, to include recently a GSR Evo IX vs. a bone stock Viper in this months edition of Sport Compact Car. I tend to like things that actually go fast and perform, not cost a lot of money.

i like the Subaru as i stated before. But the facts are facts. The evo usually faster on tarmac or harder surface , the Subaru is more shiny on looser ones.
Why we sounds like a Fanboy ? Because people try to deny the facts and usually coming up videos and my body car does that story's , against facts.
Subaru and the Evo is a great car no doubt on that. Most of the times the driver capability will decide the out come in race. /of course if the cars on same level of modification/
But most of the times the Evo will come out on top , And that is a hard fact.
So yes that is one of the reason , why the Evo is a Better car then the Subaru.
And the biggest twist on the story, who ever comes back and start those arguments are , dont even have an Evo.
The usual "drive my body's car" is not qualify for opinion, for me.
But i believe the majority test numbers and the racing results.

And the evo is just a turbocharged dodge colt. Yes a lot of the moderators don't own mitsubishis anymore, I'm sorry but we didn't feel an obligation to buy another mitsubishi when they had nothing we wanted.

Four hours of running amuck with the same old arguments and endless bashing is more than enough. Its high time this thread got flushed.
