C55 = N/A engine = no fun

if it was a CLS 55 or E 55 with the Kompressor engine, now those are fun. Pedal to the floor while crusing on the highway will spin the tires.

0-60 in 4.7s in a stock car with style and luxury... they are two completely different cars, but I wouldn't call a C55 boring.

Dynamically, there isn't much to them. They aren't a very engaging drive but that's par for the course with AMG products.

mpg will be similar/same-insurance goes up $25 every 6 months (wow), prob wont mod-but yes they are spendy (oh, and covered by MBZ).
I'm not trying to compare track cars here-Daily Driver, with occasional track use (1-2 times a month-prob no autox, just the longer stuff).
I dont mind if I get bored quick-I havent had payments in a while, and working in the auto industry, these are all buys from the manufacturer or auctions-I'm getting the C55 for the X and $1500 total. its a "good deal" in my eyes-but again, for a very specific car that is on its way here to the states (here already actually ).

Great thread! All three cars mentioned here (X, C55, and M3) are pretty much the top 3 on my shopping list right now and I've driven all 3 in the last week. It's a tough call, I got my pre-approval check exactly one week ago and haven't decided yet. The C55 is a sweet car, I'm kicking myself for not jumping on one last week. A dealer close to my house had just listed (on AutoTrader) a black '06 w/19K miles for $27,499! I drove it Monday 10/13, got me check on Wednesday morning, but hesitated until I drove the X and a M3 w/SMG. Well, Friday evening I'm heading home when I notice a nice, black C-class coming onto the highway from the exit before mine (and from the road that the dealer is located). I see it's a C55 and get a little closer to see a temp. tag. I got off at my exit and called the dealer immediately to ask if they just sold the C55, he said someone just took it out for a drive and to call back to see if it sold. I called Saturday morning, and it was gone

Couldn't believe it! When I drove it Monday, they didn't have pics of it yet, it hadn't to the mechanic (tires needed to be balanced), or even washed yet, they had just gotten it. By Friday, it was gone........

Anyway, great car. Great motor, good brakes, decent handling, and it's a Benz. I don't think you would disappointed with one. Although, since that one is gone, I am currently leaning strongly toward an '06 M3 SMG w/comp. pkg. but it's gonna be a lot more than $27,499

C55? Evo X? They're totally different cars. Go for what will make you happier in the long run. Hopefully you don't lose too much with the X.

C55 in MN? Get ready to drop 1500 for a blizzak setup, or more for a good daily.

Same payment.....I would take the C55, otherwise EVO all the way. I wouldn't spend more money for a 2-3 year old car, with most likley more mileage.

In all honesty you should check out the C32. You can do some great things with them.
