problem in high RPM's
problem in high RPM's
I installed my intercooler pipes and aem intake about 3 weeks ago, since then i have had no problems till now. the car drives fine until i get it up to about 4,500 RPM's then when i give it gas the car just sits there......then jerks forward and then repeats again or not and then picks up. samething in 3 gear and forth but only in the high RPM's and when i'm putting the peddle to the floor. Any ideas whould be great. Would a tune fix this?
It's the crappy stock tune. That jerky feeling is due to misfires from the overly rich air fuel ratio and yes, a tune will fix this. There was a dealer released reflash that came out to help alleviate this and it definitely helps. The car still hesitates when first getting on the gas after a shift, but it's better. Go to your dealer and get the latest reflash and your problems will be solved for the most part. Or, better yet just go get an ecutek tune to really unlock the power of this car. You'll pick up about 50-60 whp on a stock X. Plus, the hesitation issues will be gone. Just a thought.

thanks for the help...I took it in for the reflash that was supposted to the problem, makes me wonder in they really did it. I will be send out my ECU next week for a ECUteK. Hopefully this fixes the problem. I have my fingers crossed.
I like everyones answers, like they are 100% positive that is the problem... I wouldn't say any of the above are the correct answers, your best bet is to trace everything that you installed, see if there is a problem there. If not, take it back to stock and see if the problem disappears... then start adding one at a time from there and figure out what is causing the problem.

My vote is this is the most likely cause. I don't buy into the stock mapping, 'cuz it wouldn't wait for a few weeks before it started acting up. It was there when you installed your bits, and the car didn't hesitate then, correct? If your filter popped off, you would go really lean, leading to symptoms you described. Same thing could happen if one (or more) of the various hoses loosened up, allowing air in. I'm willing to bet you fixed it, but if not, like what was written, re-trace your install and make sure everything is secure (and in the right place).
