I hit a tree
I hit a tree
So I went snowboarding in PA and on the way back I lost control of the car in the snow and swerved into a tree. I was only going around 25MPHM..I guess I was a bit over confident w/ the car.... my front left fender is basically gone alone, the left side of my hood is bent in and my left headlight shattered.
I didnt call the cops to file a police report because I just wanted to get home, which is about 2 hrs away. Just wondering if anyone has any information on how insurance will handle this? Will they just believe me or will they do a full investigation? Can the insurance company deny my claim because I did not file a police report?? I think I'm looking at a good 3K in repairs.

i believe they can't raise your rates if you are not at fault, i.e. some one hit your car in the middle of the night and didn't leave a note/contact information but you would need a police report in that scenario.

darn it, I have All State as my insurer, does anyone have any experience w/ them? Do you guys think they will allow me to get it fixed at the dealership =D...I really want my car to have OEM parts and for the paint to match perfectly, whats the best way to do this?
as long as you pay the deductible you should be able to take it anywhere you want
I have allstate. They have accident forgiveness, so you should check into it. They also have good driver bonuses where your deductable goes down $100 every year you go without an accident or infraction. It depends on what plan you have though. It will not be considered no-fault because it's your responsibility to adapt your driving style to any condition. Good luck, sorry to hear about the wreck.
I would try to pay for it yourself to keep your insurance low unless your deductible is basically nothing. If the difference is less than 1000 theyre going to make that money back from you regardless.
Cheers!
