OR

$1k off + 2.9% APR for 60 months

As we've all been saying for a long, long time, I'm going to get this out of the way so that it doesn't need to be said over and over again. The best deal of the 3 depends on how much you put down vs how much you finance. The best deal also depends on what financing you can qualify for. Not everybody can get 0.0% and also, not everybody is going to finance a single penny on this car.

I'm going to see what kind of price I can haggle in a few Midwestern dealers... they seem to have somewhat limited stock (1-3 evos per lot).
Hi, I am new here but I have been researching this car for a while. The extra thing they also added this month is a $2000 kickback/dealer cash/marketing support(whatever you want to call it). This is applicable towards the special APR's through Mitsubishi.

You can check the incentives here http://www.edmunds.com/new/2008/mits...10954&state=NY.

You should be able to change it to your zip and get the same results. From what I am seeing(and also talking to a dealer today). You can get 0% financing AND $2000. I will update you guys tomorrow after I go to the dealership to see what kinda deal I can make.

So with an added $2,000 dealer cash, they'd probably be willing to go either:

$2k below invoice + 0% apr
$3k below invoice + 2.9% apr

Remember, you can also add on the military and/or customer loyalty rebates.

Edit - read the fine print that says:
Restrictions $2000 Dealer finance cash must be combined with Special APR. Customer must finance through MMCA. Cannot be combined with any other offer. Please see your local dealer for details.

Well, the good news is that yes you can get 0% financing and the $2000 dealer cash. The bad new is that this dealership was sleazy and I wasted my time even going there.

More to come.

Tough choice. I bought mine early 2008. So if I could do this over again I would either:
Buy a 2008 at a discount or low financing and use the extra savings on performance mods.
Or wait until 2010, the price could go up a couple of grand or so and maybe some minor tweaks.

Here are the MSRP for each model year.
2003=$28,987
2004 = $29,999
2005 = 30,699
2006 = $31,399
2008 = $32,990

How much will the 2010 model be? Maybe around $34,999 stock ?

Damn that is tempting.

But I'm sure dealers will try to hassle you because you are already getting -2000 off. So they will try to con you so you don't go any lower.

Damn get a 08 or wait for a 2010........... choices

why not wait till some real info comes out on the 2010 models? That way if there is a worthwhile difference you can wait and if not....you'll get the same deal as you'd get now.

I was told yesterday that this was NOT the case. I was told that if I took the 0%, I could only get the $500 loyalty rebate; nothing else. Is there any official info about the dealer cash or is it all 2nd hand knowledge from the dealers?

Ummm link at top of this very page...

http://jbrlsr.com/?aid=5336118840&bi...4%26state%3DNY

It specifically states that the $2,000 DEALER CASH is ONLY to be used with special financing through MMCA as I quoted on the top of the same page you were lookin at.

Please don't confuse the $2,000 REBATE with the NEW deal of $2,000 DEALER CASH

It shows right here on Edmunds http://www.edmunds.com/new/2008/mits...10954&state=NY

It is dealer cash, so it is something they don't have to tell you about nor will it be on the Mitsubishi website. They can deny all they want, if you do 0% through Mitsubishi, the dealership is going to get a $2000 kickback. This is a buyers market, if they don't want to give it to you, move on to the next dealership. I think the prices from Anahiem Mitsubishi https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/an...h-madness.html prove what can be done.

I was in the dealership yesterday to see what they had in stock. I'm looking for a MR with technology package in either PB/RR/WW. So I sat down with the salesman and he asked me what would make me buy today, so I said if the price for an MR with tech is 36k and I wanted the financing, no rebate. Invoice for an MR + tech is about 39,400+ and they wouldn't really budge from invoice. They say although the evo is a 2008, they are not making anymore this year and as there are less and less in stock the prices would naturally go up, so they're willing to wait.

I was waiting to counter my offer, but they never do, why is that??

Naturally, they didn't go for it. I'm guessing if I do the 2k rebate and get 2.9% financing for 60 months, they might bite.

What do you guys think??

:agreed:

If one dealer does not budge just go to the next dealer. Eventually someone will want to make a sale and bit your offer.

what holds me back the most on buying a new car is all this bad news on the economy it makes me think of it.
so if the 2010 comes they will be expensive and if you get the 2008 you could save a lot of money in this hard days thats a big plus.
