Periodic Inspection warning

Recently I've been getting this signal every time I start up my car. It just flashes Periodic Inspection on the led screen for a few seconds and then goes away. I tried resetting all my maintenance dates on the MMC but that didnt work. Anyone know how to get rid of this thing?

I can't remember how to do it...but when I say the service guy do it...it looked pretty complicated.

So this is not a common issue? Its considered a CEL?? I thought it was just a maintenance warning...like get your oil changed or tires aligned kinda thing...

read your manual. to reset you do something like turn key to acc then back to off hold info then a screen will pop up allowing you to clear it.

if you cant find it in the manual its somewhere on t his forum. i just played around until i got it to come up, took about 2 minutes to get it down right.

Also this is not a cel , it is simply a maintenance warning nothing to be worried about.

iirc you reset it while in park with the ebrake on. when you toggle though the info button with the ebrake on you get a new menu item for settings.

The exact purpose of this warning is to make you aware that you are in need of an oil change, or whatever other service is needed at that certain interval.

It comes on like every 3000-4000 miles.

Again...it's really nothing more nothing less. Nothing to be paranoid about.

Thumbs up

I just reset mine to the next scheduled "maintance".I read the manual.

I have smart key. Key or lack there of does not have to be to "on" position or anything like that. With car off and key to "off" position.Just push the info button to scroll thru the different modes. When you get the screen with the "Wrench"stop. Then simply hold the "info" button down for app 3 seconds till you here a "beep".It will then get rid of that warning and you'll now notice the next scheduled mileage appears in the info center now.

Good Luck,give it a try

Mine comes on every time I start up too. It's because I got to my 3k mile oil change, and the guy at pep boys didn't know how to reset it I guess.

You ALMOST have all the info there, but you're missing one crucial step

1. Turn the car off
2. Press the info button til you see the wrench
3. Hold down the info button until the wrench starts to flash
4. press the info button once to reset the maintenance interval (press it twice to increase the maintenance interval to 1yr)

I kept trying to reset it while the car was turned on, didn't work. Then tried it recently with the car off but key on and it worked.
