to avoid any unnecessary damage from idiots who open doors like their car's are on fire, i park my car as far away as possible from civilization when i go to the mall etc... there's usually like 5 - 6 free spaces in every direction from where i am!

yet, almost everytime, some person doesn't get the hint and parks RIGHT NEXT to me. lol, WTF? there is a dozen spaces FREE! why do they feel the need to get as close as possible to my car?

i go to the mall after work today. i choose the emptiest part of the lot. no one was in sight because it's literally the farthest space from the mall. 20 min later i come out and see this. i couldn't help but lol.

Well, if I had a general car, Id park it next to an Evo. They'd steal the Evo well before that silver car.

They do it on purpose. Not sure why. Just to get a rise out of people who care about their paint.

 

I dunno, those Corollas are extremely valuable for parts because they're so common. If the theif wants to joyride, the Evo is the obvious choice, but if they're looking for cash they'd take the Corolla.

They key is to not park too far away. Park towards the end, but not far enough to draw attention to yourself as "that person who parked really far away."

 

same things happening to me, i think those ppl doesn`t know how to park so they wanted to park near another car as guidance.

 

a buddy of mine at work always parks his integra next to me because he knows i wont dent his door, maaaaaaaaaaybe its somebody's new corolla, and they know you mess with their car......or they just wanna **** you off/drool over your car.

 

bingo. being careful is fine, but being too careful attracts morons.

when i see other guys with nice cars parked deep in the lot i sometimes consider parking up near them because i know they'll respect my car but then i realize they (and I) don't want ANYONE parked near us that's why we park there.

 

I say Mustang guy is the Smart 1 in this situation. DO you see POS Corolla parked 1 foot away from him ?

 

It draws way to much attention to it. Just park in lite parking imo. Or park sideways in 4 spots

 

Someone did that to my buddy Tim once. They parked with their front bumper TOUCHING his in the space in front of him. (He's got an 05 STI) Didn't do anything to his car, but still. It was a 4 door Camry - not exactly a mint one, but not nearly a POS either (maybe 2-3 years old). It wasn't locked, so we opened up all the doors and left. Good times.
