I did the research before I bought my X on the crash testing safety. The reason I bought my 04 STi over the Evo VII was for that very reason. Now that the Lancer was named as a "best pick" for frontal and side impact, the choice was clear .

Safety relates to crash protection - keeping the occupants alive and/or uninjured in crashes. It has nothing to do with theft prevention.

And my gun against your head will easily bypass any and all alarms and other anti-theft devices you choose to install.

why don't you just do a google search about it and ask instead of trying to get info on how you could steal one.

Safety and security are two different things.... you are talking about security not safety.

yeah... I bought my X and got rid of my IX because of safety. You have the ignorant people who ask why you get a fast car if you are worried about safety... and the simple fact they ask that says it all. It feels a lot safer than other cars I ride in. Wider, the airbags ready to pop out from every direction you can think of, the S-AWC, AYC and just the cars ability to turn on a dime or stop on one anytime you want or need makes me feel good.

As somebody has previously mentioned, if you're paranoid about it getting stolen, you can always get Lo-Jack. I got my X with VIN-Etching on the windows , and it might be something else you can look into getting for peace of mind.

The dealer will make up some BS about how you can still identify your car if thieves steal it because the VIN is etched onto each window... and frankly, it sold me.

Realistically, however, VIN etching is basically worthless.
